Advie on selling late 80's /early 90's bikes / parts
Hi,
I'm after some advice - I have a couple of bikes from close on 20 years ago when I first started riding and would like some advice with regards to selling all / some parts from them.
The brakes on my road bike are Campag Croce D'Aune Deltas - used but pretty good condition. Are these still in demand, or is it just the Record delta's ?
I suspect the brakes are worth more than the rest of the bike (basic Concorde frame with mix of Campag / 105 )....
My time trial bike had PMP L Shaped cranks (put on by the previous owner !) ...would these be the sort of novelty item that would be worth selling ?
The time trial frame itself - not a name I am aware of but a nice enough frame ( from the era when the rear brake was mounted behind bottom bracket) - but does anyone buy or even ride low profile frames with 26inch front wheel ?
Thanks in advance
NIck

Re: Rack mounting on Specialized Allez
Logically if they have put mountings on the seat stay you would expect that they have put some lower down as well.
Normally the mountings are just above the rear axle/derailleur hanger where the seat stay joins the chainstay. They may be "covered" with paint, I think for some you have to push out a little plastic plug to expose the mounting.
Thanks - I too assumed there would be something lower down but was expecting it to be same size as the allen key fittings on the seat stays - on closer inspection there is a small rubber bung where the seat/chain stays join so I'll investigate this to see if there is any fitting behind it.
In terms of panniers I think your suggestion of going bigger than I need (for this trip) may also be the way to go - I'll figure out exactly what I need to take and go from there.

Rack mounting on Specialized Allez
Hi,
My Allez (2009 58cm ) has rack mounts on the seat stays but where does the rack mount on the chain stays ? - I don't see any mounting holes ?
Also, can anyone advise of a good fitting rack (and also pannier) for this bike. I won't be carrying much kit as it's just a 3 day tour staying in B&B's etc so just change of clothes / shoes etc and a few tools / spares etc.
Thanks
Nick

York Show - buying a bike query
Hi,
Does anyone know if Islabike have bikes to buy and take away over the weekend , or do they just take orders ?? - I've tried contacting them but got no answer so guess they must be in York setting up or busy.
Thanks
Nick
