Dawes Super Galaxy price shock

..... of shock when I noticed that the 2015 Dawes Super Galaxy had an RRP of £2000. To say I'm dumbfounded would be an understatement.... I've mentioned this before but its worth mentioning again. Going through the spec you find a mass of super cheap components that might very well do the job but ap...

Re: Cycling from Suffolk to Paris

Also the newhaven ferry is just about long enough to catch some rest and still be making ground. So it roughly goes ride down from london during the day, catch the evening ferry and set off again in the morning (probably with lights) to paris (129m). I'm not saying don't do this route but having do...

Re: Female Cyclist Death In North London

I passed the scene a few minutes after the emergency services had got there. I'm not going to give my view or apportion blame or comment on what did or didn't happen until the coroners report has been published BUT would like to say that that corner is a particularly nasty one.

Re: Does anyone know?? Archway Cycles 183 Archway Road Londo

I cycle commute past it daily..... I know of the shop but couldn't at this point tell you what the position is re: has it gone bust. Can swing by there in the morning to see if there are any obvious signs of anything.

Route London to Southend on Sea

Anyone care to offer any thoughts on a nice New Years day cycle route from north London to Southend on sea coming back a different way?

A valid question?

Have now decided that my next bike WILL be a Specialized.... Roubaix??? While doing the research I came across lots of questions on various forums asking the question should I get a Roubaix or Tarmac. Was wondering if it was a valid question insofar as is the geometary really that different to make ...

Re: Accident at London Bridge Station

It appears its only broken bones and involved crossing the road rather than bike. Not nice but could have been worse.

Re: bbc i player,scottish audax

Watched it on my phone this morning. Two things of note... 1. Proof that the sun does sometimes shine in Scotland
2. No women riders.

Would like to have seen a bit more of the mental side of doing long Audax's. Am thinking of doing a 100k when the weather improves and from there I'll see.

Re: trek madone stolen or not

I think your jumping the gun some what..... its mid december and the kids are going to want father Christmas to visit in a couple of weeks add to that the harsh economic climate with bills going up and up. Its not out of the relms of possibility that with a few short term cash flow issues a known va...

Re: Edge 1000

Thanks all for the replies..... Looked at the mobile phone option but 2 things struck me with going down that route 1. New phone would mean new case and potentially new sensors i.e my current phone has Ant+ my next phone might not. 2. Its not a particularly 'cheap' option once you add on the cost of...

Edge 1000

Been thinking of getting one for a bit as I hate the 810 with a vengence.

Garmin has incresingly been releasing half baked stuff of late and was wondering if the 1000 was a usable bit of kit especially the navigation.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Re: If money was not an issue...

The same money for a bike as a new car? No problem, Sir. Don't forget the multiple sets of carbon wheels (deep rimmed and shallow according to the wind) and the matching mountain bike. And the $400 shoes (wot, no leather?) and the Rapha clothing, of course. How much???? Sorry but that leaves a bit ...

Re: London - Hyde Park Cycling

10k @ 12mph is 31minutes 5 seconds. Current WR is 26 minutes 17 seconds. Trust me thats a HUGE gap both physically and mentally. I suspect that if a person puts there mind to it the former is doable.
