Re: How many times can you rewaterproof Gore?

If you have to get a new one, try the Gore shakedry ones. I've recently acquired one to replace an ancient super-thin pertex windproof that I usually stuff in a back pocket. That is 20 years old and never was waterproof; now it's s bit torn and the zip's gone too so .... "I'll try a-one o' the...

[quote="thirdcrank"]I take it from the way you explain this that there has been a noticeable change in the way the garment behaves. This may seem b..... obvious to you but is it possible that you have used it differently, eg riding more actively for longer.[\quote] I'll only ride all day i...

How many times can you rewaterproof Gore?

Just did a short two day tour in the rain and my previously excellent Gore Active Waterproof let me down I think I've had it 8 or 9 years, and with two tours coming up over the next few weeks, I don't know whether to just rewaterproof it again, or if it's time for a new one - i'd rather not find out...

Re: Are my times average or good

Just wanted to say good luck with your fight and congratulations on your progress and weight loss

You are faster than everyone sat on the couch....and I mean that in a positive way

I would focus on your progress rather than comparing yourself with anyone else

Sounds like you've doing well

Chapeau

Re: Gloucester to Forest of Dean

Both road (A46) and path from Nailsworth to Stroud are rough, narrow in places, but rideable. Unless I was in a hurry or it was a very quiet time, I'd take the path. It is at least more scenic! Watch out for the steep dip though. So the path is more scenic than the road? That's good because the roa...

Re: Gloucester to Forest of Dean

NCN42 to Highnam, B4215 to Tibberton, byroads to Northwood Green and then to Popes Hill? That's what I usually do, or turn right past Flaxley Abbey at the staggered X just before Popes Hill. The Nailsworth-Stroud cycle track is a bit of a mixed bag, but it's all perfectly rideable on a road bike. P...

Re: Adventurous tour suggestions - 1 week in Europe

I did Bilbao to Malaga in a week. It was a mix of good roads and gravel (which I wasn't expecting, and so I shredded a few tyres). I've done 20 E2E/C2C type tours and this was one of my favourites. So much so that I'm giving serious consideration to doing it again but on a gravel bike. E2E Italy is ...

Has anyone got a route that goes from Gloucester to the Forest of Dean avoiding the A40/A48?

Cycling Playlist, positive songs

I like to listen to songs when I get tired on long rides. I don't use music most of the time, but on longer rides when I start to get tired I like to put some music on (in one ear) with positive music, things like: Don't Stop Me Now by Queen, I'm Still Standing by Elton John, Titanium by David Guett...

Re: Training Question - FTP/fatigue

You can't profile a person to the degree that you can understand their changing need for adaption and recovery because it can't take into account ever changing variables that effect recovery and fatigue such as sleep, hormones, dynamic health (coughs, colds, allergies, etc), stress levels, well bein...

Re: Training Question - FTP/fatigue

I think that you sampling intervals are too close together for a complex data model Human performance is a complex data model with many variables. Some of these are not in your control and some of which are not fully understood and all of which interact with each other - like the weather. It's like ...
