Thanks for the replies. Got lots of info there.
Done some research and the highest camp site is 1500 metres. Lowest is 350.
So it's quality sleeping kit with silk liner on a Themarest mat. I'll be taking a thermal compression base layer and longs along with merino winter socks and a merino long sleeve jersey. Beanie and gloves.
The worst case scenario is fully dressed and into the bag.
Thanks again.

Alps night time temperature
Hi all
I know it's a while off but I'm planning a 2 week tour of the high French alps mid June next year. I'm looking to travel as light as possible and camping all the way.
A few of the scheduled stops are quite high up and was wondering what sort of night time temperatures I would need to prepare for.
I would be using a decent air mattress and a Mammutt ultralight bag.
I have done the usual Google searches but I'd rather go for some information first hand from somebody who has been and done it at that time of year
Thanks for any input.

Catalonia Touring Route
Hi all,
Can anybody help me please?
Ive just had a week on the bike in Girona and while there i saw a 500 mile circular touring route advertised that i would like to do but foolishly never made a note of the website details.
Ive tried numerous searches but without success. Its basically from what i remember an upside down triangular route near Girona.
I know its a long shot but does anybody on here know of the route im describing?
Thanks in advance.
John.

Re: Loyn Bridge Gressingham to Hornby
Thanks.
Will be coming down from Kirkby Lonsdale back to the car at Hornby so we can do the few miles on the main road the other side of the river.
Thanks.

Hi all,
Planning a touring weekend and plan to use this bridge. Could anybody tell me if the bridge has been repaired and fully open.
Thanks for any input.

North Coast 500
Hi all,
Im doing this in July and personally i would like to ride it anti-clockwise and get the A9 out of the way first but it would probably mean a headwind all the way from John o Groats down to Applecross.
Has anybody done this route and what are the views on which way round is the better?
Thanks for any input.

Wark Forest advice please.
Hi all,
Im planning my 1st touring weekend of the year next week and part of the route takes me through Wark Forest. I plan to ride from Melkridge Common just north of Haltwistle and head north easterly and come out of the forest at Whygate.
Has anybody ridden this track, and what condition is it in?
Thanks for any input.

Re: Touring and climbing the UKs highest summits
Spot on Mick.
Road bike touring to campsites close to the mountains in each country. Climbing the mountain by foot. Some planning has already been done and the Irish leg looks fantastic.
Ferry from Ayr to Larne.
Larne to Slieve Donard 60 miles.
Slieve to Carrauntoohil 260 miles (possibility to take in the Ring of Kerry)
Carrauntoohil to Rosslare 180 miles
Ferry from Rosslare to Fishguard.

Touring and climbing the UKs highest summits
Hi,
Im planning a new challenge for next year and some time ago came across an event where you visited each of the highest summits in the UK and Ireland by bike and while there took a day out to climb each summit.
Does anybody know of a website that is dedicated to this.
Im pretty sure im not imagining it
Thanks for any input.

Girona accomodation.
Hi,
Im off for a week on the bike to Girona next September and im looking for a base. Ideally it would be outside the city, either bed and breakfast or self catering.
Looking for a twin room as a mate is tagging along, basic is fine as its just somewhere to rest and refuel.
Would be grateful for any input.
Thanks in advance .

Raiders Road Dumfrieshire.
Hi all,
Im planning a flying visit up there next weekend for a 2 day touring trip and plan to ride this route on the way back.
Im doing it on narrow tyres, 25 mm Conti Gatorskins with not a lot of weight. Single pannier and tent.
Ive seen on photos and read up that is not asphalt.
Has anybody rode this, would i get through ok if i took my time.
Thanks in advance for any input.
