I live in Northamptonshire and I could ride from home ,but would be to far for my wife . So plan to park 5 miles away and ride the rest .

Re: British Grand prix

That's what I think , knowing how bad the traffic gets ,it seems the most logical thing to do . But then the circuit would lose my £50 parking fee, so they might no want to encourage to many people cycling in .
Not saying I'm cynical in anyway lol

Re: Surly Cross Check

Hi ,I have had mine for just over a year now . (duck egg blue) . It is a great bike , can be what ever I want it to be ,I have done Audax rides , touring , daily commuting ,shopping, off road . I really can't see myself needing anything else. I do have a steamroller which I do love aswell. When I have mud guards fitted wheel changing is not a problem . I do love the new green colour . Then paint finish is fantastic ,very tough .

Re: Cannulated Screw hip repair

Hi sorry to hear of your fall . I was hit by a van on 30.6.2011. Result broken femur , but I had a dynamic hip screw repair . I was in hospital for 5 days , would of been shorter but I had to have a blood transfusion , so it put things back a day . They got me up out of bed on day two, but not full weight bearing .
It was a long road to today ,when I feel I can say I,m 95% back to how I was . If you want to chat feel free to contact me , will gladly an swear any questions if I can .
Take it easy a let your body repair itself , I think its a time issue .

Dynamo hub

I have had a front wheel with dynamo hub built . The hub is a son28 . Very impressed with it , but ...
Last few days it has started to make an annoying clicking noise . It rolls nice and smooth , I have took the wheel off and put it on another bike just to check its not my frame etc , but it still does it .
My question is . Is this normal or is there something wrong with the hub ??
Thanks

Re: Cannulated Screw hip repair

Hi sorry to hear about your accident hope you are recovering well .
In June last year I was hit by a van , which result in me fracturing my femur . I had a dynamic hip screw repair . Not sure it's the same as you have .
I was told to partial weight bear after two weeks , I think .
Any way I had physio etc and went back to work in January and am now back riding , but not as much as before yet !!!
My physio said I have a lot of muscle wastage and still not back to full strength .
If you want to compare notes feel free to pm me .

Re: . . where I can test ride a Surly Cross Check?

Don't know where you can test ride one . Just like to say I got one in November and built it up from using my old bike which had a damaged frame .
I love the cross check , decide to set it up for touring at the moment . I will commute on it as well . It will be my all rounder . I think it rides great , handling is good , can't fault it .
And the colours great to .

Re: Cyclist Killed - Driver Receives Community Order

With regard to the sun in his eyes , the bloke who hit me used that excuse , but I never believed it . 7am 30. 6 2011. I reckon the sun had been up about two and a half hours .
Police did not even prosecute him .
