Re: Is there an affordable camera?

What's a Dogcam? None on Amazon or ebay that I can see.
How long does it record for?

The SJ4000 cam looks affordable but the review says it records only 40 mins. That's a bit short for a bike ride, isn't it?

Is there an affordable camera?

I'd like to buy a decent camera, either helmet-mounted or bike-mounted. Maybe two (front and rear.) I hear Go-Pro are the best but the price is just too much! Are there any other cameras of decent quality! Any suggestions?

Re: Travel by train with bikes and luggage

I'm surprised at the small difference in cost for your journey between train and car. From Alfreton to Oban for me and the missus (or me, missus and two kids with Railcard) costs £300 off-peak return by train. Fuel for the car costs £60 all-in. I'm quite happy parking in the street in Oban; it seems...

Re: Public Convenience Map

An interesting idea for a website but the six closest ones to me are fictitious!
In fairness, two of them existed 5 or 6 years ago and one was knocked down 10 years ago. The others appear to be inside small shops!

Re: Cyclist passing law approach, BC v CUK

To what would a minimum distance passing law apply?

Vehicles passing cyclists? Cars passing cyclists? Cyclists passing cyclists, cyclists passing motorcyclists? Just what exactly passing what, exactly?

Re: New bike?

35mm tyres will handle anything. I did the red route MTB course, (plus the downhill sections) at Sherwood Pines on my Raleigh Royal tourer on 700 x 35 Marathons - and it was a bit wet!

Looking advice on an MTB for my 11-y-o grandson

My 11-year-old grandson is taking quite an interest in off-road riding. Mountain Biking, that is, not surfaced trails. We've been several times to Sherwood Pines doing the Red and Blue routes; he's riding a cheap kids (24" wheel) hybrid but manages ok. Now he's wanting to get more into Mountain...

Excellent question, mercalia.
Another one would be.... Why is the reversal only available for 30 days?

Re: Windows 10 dirty update trick

Thanks for letting us know about this. I hadn't heard of this dirty trick.

Re: Spa Cyles Steel Tourer - one year on - what opinion now?

The kind of replies I was hoping for would be from people who have bought the Spa Cycle Steel Touring bike (as reviewed by Chris Juden nearly two years ago) or ride with others who have. What do people in the know think of it after giving it some use? Glad they bought it? Wish they hadn't? Never a s...

Re: Spa Cyles Steel Tourer - one year on - what opinion now?

Thanks for the replies guys but they address different issues, I was wondering about the reputation of the bike from folks (or with folks) who have ridden one for a while and what they now think. Either themselves or heard from others who have commented on them after riding them in. What are the pro...

Spa Cyles Steel Tourer - one year on - what opinion now?

About a year ago, the Spa Cycles Steel Tourer had a rave review in the CTC magazine - "Best tourer for under a grand" and all that. How has this stood the test of time? What's the opinion now of the guys who have ridden them for a while? Have you heard any good or bad 'user reviews'. Its e...

What width tyre?

I'm looking for new tyres for a used pair of road wheels I've just bought. I'd like wider tyres. Is there a way I can tell what sort of size tyre the rims will safely take?

Which Scwalbe Marathon tyre ?

I have a new (used) pair of wheels and want to buy a pair of Schwalbe Marathon tyres when I fit them. Looking for a pair, I see there are a dozen or more variations of this tyre. Is there any kind of guide to these tyres anywhere? The Scwalbe site is hard work and not too helpful.
