Maybe the Invisible Person (police officer) is hiding, observing and booking people who do not indicate. I think one should always indicate when driving, I should like to read arguments against. Hoping for entertainment, not nasty argument
Whatabout losing points for 'not making progress when it is safe to do so'? I know one may fail the driving test for going "too slow", is that a thing for "advanced" driving?

Re: Who are the best/worst drivers on the road?
Worst parkers are delivery drivers, they leave the engine running while delivering packages, pity the cops do not follow them about, and issue dozens of tickets
The offence can be stopped easily, but is reaching into the vehicle to turn the engine off an offence? Particularly bad in hilly places where one should always engage gear when leaving the vehicle

Boring can be good. Could be a great ride with few walkers, few cyclists even? (+2!) So much for alleged cycle-friendliness in NL

Re: Is the number plate visible or legal ?
A rotten cop? Disagree strongly, experience shows that a driver stopped for one offence may be committing others, and it is easy enough to avoid committing this offence. Occasionally cycles fall off cars, maybe on the freeway, with serious consequencesPercy wrote: ↑16 May 2021, 8:25pm I know this doesn't answer your question. I'm just thinking that if a cop stopped you for the number plate issue, he'd have to be a pretty rotten cop, looking for a victim. The lights at night, that's another matter but during daylight hours it ought to not matter except for a rotten cop out to get you "because the brake lights are being obscured."

Taking cycles by car is so much trouble, I should try cycling from home

Re: Is the number plate visible or legal ?
The cycles appear to increase the overall width of the outfit to more than the overall width of the vehicle, could our ex-police officers advise whether that is legal?

Re: Is the number plate visible or legal ?
Obviously (?) it is not legal, the registration mark may not be clearly visible from certain angles. The cycle/s also protrude on the off side, outwith the width of the vehicle, and restrict effectiveness of rear-view mirrors
There might be little enforcement but if there is a check, especially if you have an 'accident' (bikes falling off?) you could be in serious trouble
I should certainly not risk driving with this set-up
What is the rated load for the carrier? How much do the two cycles weigh?

Re: Who ate all the pies
I am glad I did not become a professional racing cyclist, I read how the nutrition scientists now decide exactly what the athletes should eat, and how much, and when
Scientist: you must eat 500g of spaghetti today, 100g asparagus, two onions, no cheese, three softboiled eggs 3.75 litres of water, no tea &c
Cyclist: but I am dying for Yorkshire Pudding like my granny used to make. And rhubarb for afters!

'earning' millions?
I have noticed that people called Boris seem to be the sort of energetic active successful people we might (or might not) need
Boris Yelzin, he liked a drink and dancing about
Boris Becker, he earned so much money, got into a bit of trouble
Now Boris Palmer, a green politician in Germany, is sailing a bit far to the right, embarrassing his political chums
Could Nomen be Omen?

Rotavator is right I think, there is a saying:
Breakfast like a king
Lunch like a farmer
Supper like a beggar
..
I am retired, I find myself having a substantial breakfast, porridge + sandwiches, main meal 14oo-15oo maybe, and often nothing in the evening, might go cycling late to get tired so that I sleep like a baby
There is talk of diets where one does not eat for 16 hours a day, might seem a lot but I often manage that

No need to boycott the EU, lots of exotic vegetables are produced in the UK, using waste heat for example

Thanks very much, I think it is a dual card phone but I need to get a new one soon
