The only time I worry about vehicle exhausts is when a school bus goes past. An honest resp...

Re: Multiple crimes/offences (3+?) by motons

What is a non-compliance, is that less or more than an offence? Is using the word "crime" incorrect? Could they be punished for all three, is that normal practice?

Re: The Tragic Proliferation of ‘Drive-Cycling’

indeed I do not particularly want more cycling, just less motoring My point proven I think... Typical townie, self centric view I reckon. Wait till you’ve tried living in the countryside through a proper winter - and by this I mean rural Northumberland, 25 miles from the nearest supermarket. Let al...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

The Grauniad has an inspiring article about Romanian people working in the UK, they are the second-biggest group after my favourites (Poles), but apparently many are too busy working and do not follow the UK media, they may not know about having to apply for settled status, -1 Plenty of them are sma...

Re: Things you've never done

One thing I used to do a lot was writing Letters to the Editor, to local papers, the CTC Gazette of course, gave that up years ago, it was fun, kept some copies Had one published in a leading motoring journal, advocating enforcement of traffic law, there were some entertaining responses Now I just a...

Re: The Tragic Proliferation of ‘Drive-Cycling’

Tolerance? Do driving cyclists, do you, belong to the tiny minority of motorists who observe traffic law, stop signs, maximum speed limits?

Re: The Tragic Proliferation of ‘Drive-Cycling’

A modern lifestyle, what is that please, is it a good thing? Plenty of people in London have a modern diverse lifestyle, no need for a car, it would be a burden to have one Not only in London... Plus One for Cugel, 60 miles a day to and from work, sweating at the dentist Just make sure you can park ...

Multiple crimes/offences (3+?) by motons

Saw a male skoda* driver commit three crimes at once today: Ignored stop sign Did not yield Using a telephone (I shouted at him!) Is this a record? Probably not, one frequently sees drivers going too fast AND too close, committing two easily detectable crimes, doubtless many commit a third and a fou...

When I am elected mayor I shall outlaw gears above 50", fixies will be the norm

For several reasons I am glad not so many people cycle where I live, out of town there are very few except in summer
