Re: Luxos U light fork attachment?

It should be supplied with a mount for the hole in the front fork crown. My Luxos B was. Mine's on a bike with cantilever brakes, but these have an old type long straddle wire, so it fits without any problem. Being near the wheel it does get dirtier, even with mudguards, than if mounted on the hand...

Luxos U light fork attachment?

Hi all,

I want to get the Luxos U light as the mini USB charge output will come in very useful. I have a bar-bag though so ideally looking for placement on the front fork just above the tyre (middle bit of the 'U'). Is this easily done?

Thanks,

Re: 1.5 or 1.75"

Thanks, i'd not considered the Supreme before.
Just looking at some reviews for it though and although positive, it recommends not using with a dynamo (which I have), any reason for this?

Thanks,

1.5 or 1.75"

Hi all, After a week tour i've found out my 2.0" tyres are creating too much rolling resistance for my type of riding. I also plan to remove front rack and travel with just 2 back panniers and ortlieb holdall therefore reducing weight considerably. I've had some recommendations on the Schwalbe ...

Re: Current 2" tyre too wide - what should I get?

Also guys, what is the difference with the higher HS numbers on the Marathons? I notice some go into the 400+?

Kind regards,

Re: Current 2" tyre too wide - what should I get?

Thank you guys :) Marathon hs 368 looks like a good choice. By too big, what do you mean? I have/had XRs in 2.0 flavour and will be putting them on my Disc Trucker when the current Contis wear out. Too big meaning for the smooth/semi-rough surfaces I mainly do, my current 2.0 are overkill. I love my...

Current 2" tyre too wide - what should I get?

Hi all,

Ok, after returning from a 6 day tour it's clear my 2" XR tryes are too big for my Surly LHT bike (straight bars, rack on back with 2 x20l panniers). Ideally looking for something as robust but thinner, do you think 1.5 would be a good choice?

Thank you,

Re: Lands End - Bristol - Any advice welcome

Just thought I update this as we got back yesterday. :) Had a great time, took a gentle ride back in around 6 days and took in as many sights and scenery as possible. We took camping gear and found sites each night. Learned a massive amount on bike touring which was very useful as I plan to do anoth...

Re: 5 speed chain?

Thanks Bruce, I was hoping to go KMC actually as I have plenty of them QuickLinks from my main bike. Did a search for KMC 5-Speed though and it was saying it was suited mainly for single-speed. I never knew any 7/8 speed will work - will look out for this. Just to confirm, the 5-speed the chain will...

5 speed chain?

Hi all,

Got an old tourer a friend will be using soon, i'd like to replace the chain as it is very old but it is only a 5 speed. Any recomendations on a model chain to use?

Thanks,

Maybe you fancy a change but the Cats Meow is still available.

Thanks guys,
That's not a bad price actually, might go with that. Do you have any experience with it?

Re: Sleeping bag similar to the Cats Meow

Slight embarrassment

I was meaning to type 'sleeping bag' but was looking at tents just before posting this and I got the 2 jumbled up!

My tent is sorted , an Atko.
Just need to get the sleeping bag sorted now and looking for something on a similar level as the Cats Meow.

Kind regards,

Sleeping bag similar to the Cats Meow

Hi all,

Looking for a 3-season'ish sleeping-bag and before now i've always had the 'North Face Cats Meow' recommended to me, but it does not seem to come up that often.

Any other similar tents of comparable quality you guys would recommend?

Thanks
