Re: Glasgow or Edinburgh?

I am another one for the Ardrossan route which we did this time last year in brilliant sunshine, if not a bit to hot. What I would have changed on my route was missing out the Great Glen Way which was memorable for the wrong reasons. Nice view but the back of the bike wanted to over take the front o...

Re: caledonian canal

We have just completed our LeJog and used the GGW on a tandem and it was worse than using the A82. It was very treacherous on a steep down hill part due to loose rubble. It would be ok on large tyres.

Re: Time lapse between each stage

The one thing that some folk have trouble with ...... especially when new to the touring game as many End2Enders are ........ is being away from home day after day and riding many miles day after day. It really means something to them and it is a monumental thing for them to do. We start our first ...

Re: Lejog 14th July

Hi, thank's for the info on the routes. I like the idea of a flat route but getting the tandem around or over that gate may take longer than climbing the extra 104m! I think we will see how we feel after the first two days of the trip and the weather. Our route is possibly going to change as Sarah w...

Re: Lejog 14th July

Hi Moonboy, yes I know what you mean about the Taunton part. I had looked at the canal but not sure on the best place to pick it up as anything with a gate or barrier in the way is very tricky with the tandem. If we picked it up from near the cricket ground can we get all the way to Bridgewater with...

Lejog 14th July

Hi, just thought i would post our blog on here which has our planned route which has been created after spending many hours reading the advice in other topics and viewing the various blogs. We are even meeting up with another couple on a tandem who have kindly agreed to help us past Preston and onto...

14th July LeJog Blog?

Hi, not sure where to ask this question but what is the best way to setup a blog for our upcoming trip starting on the 14th July. I see a number of people on here have links to pages so thought it worth asking :?:

B8004 Fort William.

Hi i have the B8004 planned on my route but notice there is a path alongside the Caledonian Canal all the way to where we will get back on the B8004 before heading on the Great Glen Way which has been recommended by several people on this excellent forum :D So my question is' is it worth it or just ...

Re: Thoughts on this route though Scotland.

It would be good to know how the Great Glen Way has stood up to the harsh weather we have had over the past few months as it looks like a decent route, again avoiding the main A roads?

Re: Thoughts on this route though Scotland.

Wow another nice view of a downhill, the tandem will love it :D You seem to have chosen a fairly scenic route on quite a tight timescale, nothing wrong with that, I like high mileage tours. But if it was me I'h have a B route ready (Or at least in mind) before setting off, just to cover unexpected c...
