Re: A6 - how busy?

Agree with comments, Carlisle, Penrith, Kendal all fine for A6 Further south, bit busier into Lancaster on both sides, but definately doable, we came through at rushhour and it was manageable, not hairy. Garstang and into Preston were perhaps the busiest bits, short section of just general head down...

Re: Lands End on an 8 speed hub

Alas funds are tight and any available are been spent on a night of luxury in B&Bs rather than camping. Which I guess starts to address the question of what are we carrying. Anticipate 2 fully loaded Ortlieb panniers on the bag with a topeak MTX trunk bag. Bar bag on the front for troughing, so...

Re: Lands End on an 8 speed hub

Using the current spec. off the Genesis site (40/20 teeth), sheldon makes the gear thus: Gear range.JPG Now that would suit me, if I was very lightly loaded, but stronger riders will object to the highest gear... PS looks like a nice bike :-) Thanks Simon, and indeed all the responses. Alas funds a...

Lands End on an 8 speed hub

Hello all, looking for some tips, advice or indeed some ideas for making a 12 day LeJog that little bit easier Riding a Genesis Day-One with Shimano Alfine 8 speed hub, and there lies the challenge. The bike is a comfort machine, but the gearing is suited for gentle hills rather than an epic end-to-...

Re: Jogle 13th June friday 2014

Good luck Sean, you're too quick for me.

We're setting out on the 15th and taking 12 days, try and save some of the good weather for us?

Best of luck!!
