Is anyone using either Ergon SM or SMC with a Carradice Bagman support?
Looking at the details online the saddle rails seem to be shorter than say a WTB and with more overhang.
I am hoping to replace existing saddle but with an Ergon but not if the Bagman does not fit.

I don't know if this has been done but as I cleaning my bike the other day and I was mentally just deciding what drive chain components are consumable and which are maintainable? Then my mind wandered on to professional bikes like in TdF etc and I was wondering what the maintenance schedule for a bi...

Re: UCI bikes
Whoops didn't mean to start a major thread. I was watching Paris Nice and liked the close ups of the bikes and noticed that disc brakes were widely used. From the set up point of view I couldn't imagine a mechanic wrestling with an hydraulic system over night times the number of team bikes and as I ...

How are the disc brakes operated on the bikes they used on Paris Nice and other world events?
Cant see hydraulic as being first choice so I suppose they must be cable?

Rapidfire Front Shifter
Trying to set up my FD on new build 2x11 XT gear train. The front Rapidfire 11 speed covers 3x and 2x with a selector marked 3x or 2x according to the Shimano Tech Document except mine does not have a selector. I think my previous one was the same but never had a problem getting it to work properly....

Re: Newbie headset question
Find your way over to the Hope website.
Lots of diagrams and explanations of how things go together.
You will need to be able to interpret the information or it could be a trip to the lbs.

Brompton 3 speed shifter.
Can anyone point me at an exploded diagram of a 3 speed gear shifter fitted to a Brompton please? It is a 2017 3 speed single lever with bell and brake lever on a single mount. It has started to stick in position of gear selected rather than return to rest position. Happy to take it apart but would ...

First headset
Never ordered a headset before as previous frames always came with them.
Does a complete headset kit from Cane Creek come with the scuff washer and thrust plate?
Last headset was CK and all these items came with it but don't see them mentioned on CC website?

Re: Merging GPX files
I use Garmin BaseCamp but its a knife and fork edit.
You have to cut and splice by hand and the menus are not intuitive.
Also if the files were generated from ride data you lose that as well.
Other than that it can be done.

Re: Edit a gpx file - advice
Pretty sure you can do all that in Garmin BaseCamp but only used MS version but cant imagine that there is not an Mac version. You can drag gpx files into BaseCamp so don't need a device to download and watch out for the dreaded blue flags obscuring your path. Easy to change and reset once you know ...

Re: replacing shifters
if you are trying to fit SRAM parts go to the SRAM website and download the relevant pdf manual. It will tell you what to do. cheers Thanks but the SRAM tech stuff is really rubbish. It just goes off on a long description of how to install rim brakes under the Apex pdf. Thinking about it perhaps I ...

replacing shifters
I am replacing the SRAM Apex DT shifters and cables on my gravel bike over Christmas. I have only ever done this with Shimano MTB builds so this is not familiar territory to me. Unwrapping bars to get at cables? :( I do not seem to be able to find the fitting/set up instructions as per Shimano so if...

Re: Zinn Road Bike Maintenance - any good?
I have Zinn MTB version and (don't laugh) Haynes The Bike Book.
I more often than not find Haynes better than Zinn but not as good as YouTube.
I think if I had to choose a book it would probably be Park.
