Re: Extinction Rebellion

Yet another example how people are trying to discredit the messenger and are ignoring facts that don't fit with their pre-conceived ideas. But given recent history on this thread I suspect we'll have another "what hypocrisy ..." post before long as they try and discredit another (or even ...

Re: Extinction Rebellion

People doing all the crying out about hypocrisy (e.g. from the actress woman - can't remember her name) seem to be failing to read the several times repeated point that she was actually flying home from her work. I suspect that all those politicians flying from all over the world to Paris released f...

Re: planning software advice

The "add via" points when you click on the map are added to the end of the route (nearest end from memory). Just drag them too reorder. Once you get used to it it's brilliant. Personally I'd rather a click on map "add via" appeared in the middle of the route but I can see issues ...

Re: Pillow

I have the Exped Air Pillow (http://www.exped.com/switzerland/en/air-pillow-m). It’s pretty comfortable (I use a buff as a kind-of pillowcase) and packs up super small into its stuff sack. Would recommend Me too. I have the "pillow case" accessory for it as well (gives a nicer surface to ...

Re: Big Bike revival ... yet more helmet normalising!

Lance accepts wearing a helmut while pjc refuses, two different attitudes, care to explain briefly? If I don't I can't get the insurance to train. It's not that I accept it, or agree with the compulsion, it's simply that I have no choice in the matter. ..... Last summer my travel insurance for tour...

Re: Big Bike revival ... yet more helmet normalising!

Perhaps, and this is just an idea, CUK could present the information and let us adults make up our own minds? I don't see why they have to take a stance on something that isn't obligatory, and which has no immediate prospect of becoming so. That would be what the CUK Helmet Briefing is for. And whe...

Re: Big Bike revival ... yet more helmet normalising!

I think that CUK is caught between a rock and a hard place on this. They'll be pilloried by the media for not supporting helmet wear and criticised by us if they do. I understood they [CTC] had discussed and debated the issue and their decided stance/position. I would not be impressed if they are d...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Every brexit problem is rooted in a lack of honesty, including the second referendum campaign. Perhaps the second referendum should comprise the three options: ⋅ REMAIN ⋅ LEAVE ⋅ MAYBE Would that be 'honest'? What if your favoured option loses? What does "maybe&qu...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Not wanting to lose face? As in Tory party leaders not wanting to lose even more votes to UKIP/Farage's New Folly? The political calculation that for May to do a U-turn now would split the Tory vote forever and relegate it to third place for the foreseeable future? The Labour Party seems to be stru...

Re: Serial destroyer of once proud brands loses £150m

Link is at the very start of the quote (just above the quoted text at the top of the quote box. Ian I’ve read that again and then a third time to be sure and nowhere can I see where it says rents that were agreed are not being paid. Indeed it says the opposite, that short term low or zero rent peri...
