Re: The right way to handle the Scotish Independance?

The Scots came from Ireland. It was Pictland before the Scots took over. The Scots came from Northern Ireland .. the original Ulster which included Donegal ... hence the affinity between the two peoples, many assume it is a sectarian connection .. It's not ... we are the same people .. Researching ...

Re: The right way to handle the Scotish Independance?

Thanks Mick, From your link We recommend buying your seed potatoes from certified suppliers because those sold in supermarkets for consumption can be a source of disease and pest. We would avoid buying them from online general retailers such as as Amazon or E-bay unless you know exactly who is supp...

Re: The right way to handle the Scotish Independance?

OK Potatoes then...do you eat or grow potatoes? All seed grown in Edinburgh and all high health seed pots come from Scotland and a few from Northumberland and Cumbria. Cornish Wilja Grown at Dupath about four miles from here. Assuming that is just a Wilja ( EU was good for something then :D ) grown...

Re: The right way to handle the Scotish Independance?

Of course we can still be nice to each other! :D Same as any country. However, I don't like porridge, and I don't like whiskey. Not fond of haggis though we used to eat it now and again when the girls were little when we lived up there. What else do they produce that I may like? Could I tempt you w...

Re: New Scottish transport bill

Yes councils can fine you for overstaying or not paying in car parks. if you’re parked on double yellows then that’s a traffic offence which the police should deal with but rarely do. As I was nearly run over once having to step out onto the road, because of large vans illegally parked on yellows , ...

Re: The right way to handle the Scotish Independance?

What about our military bases in Scotland - are they essential? If so they'd probably be retained as British territory like the base areas in Cyprus. If anyone wonders why Scots may feel like anything less than a partner in a union of equals this attitude expressed by Pete should clarify it! We are...

Re: The right way to handle the Scotish Independance?

I’m really struggling with this. If I understand this correctly you live in Scotland for ten years and during that time feel it’s none of your business to vote on how it’s run or plans for its future. Military personnel serving somewhere is not really the same as civilians choosing to live somewher...

Re: The right way to handle the Scotish Independance?

I think it's only fair that Scots living elsewhere should be allowed a say in what happens to their country. To deny them a vote would be like treating them as foreigners and what would be their status if they wanted to go back to the country to live? I utterly agree. As for non-Scots living in Sco...

Re: The right way to handle the Scotish Independance?

How many people live in Scotland and are actually Scottish? 4million max, and most of them live in the central belt. I’m failing to see the significance of that. My point is that there's only 4m people who could want independence and far less if you have a vote on it. There are many more than 4m pe...

Re: The right way to handle the Scotish Independance?

Allow it to proceed and spend the funds released on English schooling eg Scotish Independance will become Scottish Independence... Al It will be an end from austerity for you with all the money saved from giving it to the EU and Scotland. It will be an end to Scotland coming home from work e...
