Re: Birthday Present;advice needed

I’ve noticed a tattoo of a chainring on the right calf seems very popular. :D

Re: how do I train for a super-steep hill ?

Just keep riding hills. If your lungs and heart are giving out then you are trying too hard. Settle down into an easy pace right from the bottom not from half way up after you’ve run out of breath. Get to the top, without gasping, engage big gear and you’ll belt past all those who tried too hard get...

Re: Numb hands

On our recent Wimps LEJOG I began to get a numb left hand little finger. Started after Perth on a lot of bumpy cycle paths. I stopped wearing cycle gloves and by Inverness it had gone.
I suspect it was a gel bit applying pressure where it shouldn’t.

Re: NCN6 weirdness

Where Pithouse lane joins the A618 you’ll see a round blue sign with a bicycle on top of a pedestrian. This denotes shared use.

Re: Car Avoids Something In Road.

. It's obvious there were some "early" adapters among farmers, as I became accustomed to dead badgers appearing as a matter of routine in two particular areas (Nb. neither area would have supported a high badger population, the bleak moorland/pasture land being unsuited to high population...

I’m not familiar with your phone, but, can’t you just select Osmand and don’t allow access to mobile data?

Re: Women cyclists a resigning issue for Bozza?

Just yet another lie which he and Gove began in 2016. If the EU was such a bad place why would you need to lie?
The sad bit is there are still people who want to believe them.

Re: Ladies' Saddles

SMP, they look a bit weird as the nose points downwards, but no soreness or breaking in period. I went for the basic model, but Mark Beaument managed to get round the world in record time with a higher end model (no pun intended!) I’ve just completed the Wimps LEJOG on a SMP Hybrid Gel. Had to use ...

I can export my rides from Strava as a gpx but as the Wimps know that might not be "right" route.

Did it stay up before you added the comfort saddle?

Re: what has happened to Wiggle ?

Whatever is happening at Wiggle seems to be passing on to cycle racing The Wiggle-High5 women’s team appears to be on the brink, according to a report in Cycling Weekly. The team’s registration for the 2019 season has not been submitted and no riders are currently under contract for next year, Roche...

Re: 2018 Tour De France

At least all the 'favourites' are a similar amount off the yellow. One does have to wonder if CF was 'targeted'' given the hate fuelled by the Badger and the French press. Tour madness again, lots of over enthusiastic riders all wanting to make a mark, all wanting to make a show for prospective emp...

HGV drivers have been the best on our E2E
A lot of car and motor home drivers need to go to Specsavers
The most cynical pass was from an Oates coach leaving Lands End. Passed everyone of us as close as he dare with a completely clear road ahead.

Re: Skipping a Stage of the End to End

just found this thread but I believe we met the OP just north of the Kessock Bridge. From Israel and doggedly following the Cicerone route. They were disappointed at our volumes of traffic and had expected the route to be like a eurovelo.

Well done chaps! Chapeau! Sorry that the Bristol day was a bit of a downer, that's the day I was waiting for you all at Almondsbury. I could have come further south and guided you, but there we are. Alls well that ends well. I had a red number 1 on my messages tab for over a week and couldn’t find ...
