Re: Porridge: love or hate?

Anyone have savoury porridge, I.e., with vegetables or similar? Could be a quick, easy, healthy midday meal option. I’ve heard it’s becoming more popular My lentil soup was too thin once so I added porridge to it I make lentil soup from scratch with lots of vegs, takes an hour, keeps a couple of da...

It's not guilt if he can use the permitted defence. I didn’t know there was a permitted defence. I’d of thought two samples saying you are over the permitted level is fact. If he didn’t take the stuff then who put it in there? I’ve no idea if scientists can tell which way it got into the system but...

Yep,cream and b@#£&rds rise to the top.

Funny how SKY GC contenders always seem to perform at their best when they are supposedly at their sickest.

Re: 2017 Vuelta (spoilers post-highlights please)

Are these reports, details, allegations, a bit premature for the public domain? Maybe it would of been appropriate to keep this investigation confidential until such time as confirmed proof of guilt. Sample A and B have tested positive, the rider is responsible, can’t be blamed elsewhere. Noticeabl...

Re: JOGLE - route feedback

Looks like you've faithfully followed route74. At the south end there really is no need to turn right and follow the lanes. Just carry on along B7076 Kirkpatrick Fleming, Gretna, Over the Border then back on route. Depends when you do this ride but AFAIK Brougham Bridge (Penrith) is still closed. P...

Re: 2017 Vuelta (spoilers post-highlights please)

Froome winning a green jersey. As he said post-race, it's likely to be the only one he ever wins, so you can see why he went for it instead of leaving it to the sprinters - he had warned people there would be no gifts. Although, that said, did he gift the penultimate stage fairytale ending to Conta...

Re: Near miss on busy road - plea for good lights!!

For a first pass, I would be inclined simply to check out each of the lights that I have in my bike box - which vary from a claimed 1200 lumen down to an old, 4.5 battery powered filament lamp from 20+ years ago. [color=#FFFF40]I also have no idea what the legal minimum requirement equates to in pr...

Always made purely with water usually soaked overnight. Pan on the hob and use a spurtle. I did try microwave for a while but it’s a different result. I usually add raspberries and sometimes a fruit nut and seeds mix. I had to wikicheck "spurtle", it is a wooden implement for stirring por...

Re: Ortlieb Saddle Bag

I have and use both bar bag and the middle size saddle pack. The man carrying tin snips is equipped to steal and I’d imagine nothing will stop him. The Ortileb lock will only deter casual spur of the moment theft. A while since I fitted my saddle pack but I do recall there is a fine line between wro...

Les, I’m extremely worried that you are a licensed driver. Yet your vision coupled with attention seems so poor that only double decker buses are easily visible. Your version of the HC must be different to mine in that I thought you had to drive always expecting other slower/ vulnerable highway user...
