Suntour Accushift question.

Hi guys, I have never used Suntour (on a roadbike) before and am building up my restored Philbrook tourer over the next few weeks - question is I am using Suntour Cyclone RD and FD, are Accushift shifters* friction or ratchet ? With-initially-a Campagnolo chainset (Nuovo Record 48/42), until I can s...

Give most of it away, it is a vulgar sum: no-one person should be able to win that much - suggest 170 people win a million.

Re: Greatest ever uk frame builder?

Roberts frames are rarely mentioned on this forum (it does surprise me). Chas was not the Roberts framebuilder: he managed the business. Prior to Charlie Roberts death in 1979 the two principle Roberts builders (including Charlie) were Geoff Roberts (Charlie's youngest son) and Derek Bailey. Geoff R...

It may have been a record: 46 finishers from 196 starters in the men's road race (yesterday) !?

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Retailers and manufacturers cannot absorb prices long term, though they may be able to do so short term. Retailers are unable to absorb cost increases, they've suffered much margin erosion in recent years, automotive sector economics are very complex, dealers are at the mercy (largely) of both the ...

Very few of us will be able to afford an imported foreign car. However, since we would have taken back control, we could set our own cheaper standards for cars (e.g. no expensive catalytic converters fitted since they would no longer be required) and manufacture them cheaply using low wage UK labou...

Re: Would you Abolish Eton?

We have not talked about the emotional damage that these boarding schools do to their pupils. The Old Etonian John Julius Norwich, asked for a memory that he thought summed up the spirit of his school, offered the following: after a boy had killed himself “the housemaster summoned the whole house a...

yeah £40,000/year of inclusivity  Because some or many can't afford something is that a reason for it to go ? And if they are closed, where will all those pupils go ? John The Headmasters justification for keeping it open was that it is more inclusive than it was. I would suggest £40,000/year...

I have a Trek Navigator (aluminium frame/rigid fork - 21 speeds so oldish now) with a rise adjustable stem, it had a suspension seat post but I removed that and fitted a sprung saddle - better. My preferred tyre for this type of bicycle is the Continental Town & Country (1.9 inches wide) - not s...
