Re: Crask Inn is it still open?

I just got back from a LEJoG, got chatting with some local cyclists just before the Crask Inn. We asked them about the for sale status to which they informed us "its been for sale for years" implying that it wasn't about to happen any time soon.

Re: Courteous Drivers

Just assume everyone is out to kill you and try and act accordingly Catchy sound bite, but if I actually thought like that I would never cycle. I might not even drive unless I had a tank. I'm guessing that's why range rovers and other Chelsea tractors are quite popular in London, the perception of ...

Re: Pedestrians' view of bells ?

I've posted this before so apologies if you've read it, but once, coming up behind a dog walker I rang the bell a number of times in a friendly fashion. The dog heard it, he didn't. I passed him slowly at which he demanded why I hadn't got a bell. I told I had and I'd rung it - he probably didn't b...

Polarising filters might help with that.

Re: Ice trikes 26 inch with rear suspension

I shouldn't really be looking at the Ice website... just sat playing with the options, and ended up with a trike config that costed 5.5k... I'm pretty sure I would get divorced if I hit order! ;) Classic example of the lesser known rule of bike ownership where the correct number to own is: S - 1 ht...

Re: New 'bent

You've beaten me to the commute. Not sure if I am ready to battle the rush hour in Birmingham. I may ride in as I go before the traffic starts and catch the train out of the city centre. I wonder what it is like using a bent on a train Hi there, I was a bit concerned when I picked up my first bent ...

Re: Pockets

Bum bag is another option. +1. Just make sure that the buckle is not in the middle of the strap  I got a leather bun bag off eBay in the end, and yep, the buckles could have been better situated for bent needs. Having the bag center front in the stomach defo didn't work. But rotating another ...

I have some banana bags, and they are very good - but they were a gift ;)

Do you find it stays in place rather than rotating around?

Pockets

Or Rather, what do you do for pockets about your person while riding laid back? I was out on a ride the other week and trying to eat a half baguette while on the move. Munching was easy enough and i kinda managed to stuff it inside my jacket on my chest for the parts when two hands on the handlebars...

Can't remember where I found it from right now but I also found POIs Lidl's and rotten McRonys for all of Europe. Figured that would be handy for cheap food and free wifi for those on tour.

Re: Very cheap recumbent bags.

Interesting find, I was looking into options for some cheap bags for the bent. Closest I've come so far was dry bags that are meant normally for marine use. Only downside is they open at the ends rather than along the length.

Re: Anyone here own a HPV Grasshopper fx?

I'm happy with a mirror mounted on my glasses rather than on the bike. i was wondering about them, they look like a good idea. Do they add any perceptible weight to the frame? My main concern with them would just be one side of my specs tilting down a bit, or more annoyingly causing my glasses to s...
