it allows you to import gpx into it.
Not sure if it will work on an iphone 4 anymore though.

anyone got any experience of buying or riding an ebike fitted with this type of drive?

It is a hub mounted motor and a pinion drive at the front.
There does not seem to be a UK stockist, apart from Bikefix.

These attachments provide some measure of security. They would not stop a determined thief though.
