Re: Cycling Across France

I would love the challenge of this trip, but I would also like to cycle back as well. I would prefer camping as much as possible.
I will be 68 years old next month, so that may be a consideration for you depending on your age. 100 kms a day maximum would be nice as well.

Re: Loire a velo. Logistics.

Last June I cycled from Nevers to Nantes, then across to Roscoff. I live in Cornwall, so it was train to Plymouth, ferry to Roscoff, then train from Morlaix to Paris, and train to Nevers. I bought a copy of the Loire a Velo guide book, which gave me all my campsites, plus B+B's and hotels if needed....

Re: Cycle friendly B+B in Roscoff

As I am on the 9 15am ferry from Roscoff, I may look into the B+B by the ferry terminal this Saturday morning after the overnight crossing from Plymouth. It would save an early start from Morlaix.

Cycle friendly B+B in Roscoff

I am cycle camping the Eurovelo 6 along the Loire from Nevers to Nantes starting a week today, then the Eurovelo 1 up to Roscoff and would like to have a B+B for my last night. Has anybody got any experience of stays in Roscoff. Anybody else around the route at the same time?

Re: Navigating France: Paper maps? Smart phone? GPS? Other?

I am cycling the Loire a Velo from Nevers to Nantes, and then the Eurovelo 1 up to Roscoff in a couple of weeks and taking Michelin maps only, no modern technology. However the route is not a fixed one, I may decide to leave the river and head up towards Normandy, then back to Roscoff. I don't have ...

I am going on my 1st cycle camping holiday next month to France, and was thinking about insurance cover. What policies or companies do people use and recommend ?

Hi Quilkin
I live in Mount Hawke and I am a member of the Truro Cycling Club. Had a good ride out to Victoria last Sunday and looking forward to a ride next Sunday. Will be doing the 10am ride.

Re: 1st tour advice

Thank you for the replies to my post, but I have had a change of plan. It is now the ferry from Plymouth to Roscoff, trains from Morlaix to Paris , then Paris to Nevers on the EV6. Follow the EV6 to Nantes, then the EV1 to Roscoff and ferry back to Plymouth. Trains booked as well from Truro to Plymo...

Campsites near Nevers

Can anybody help me and recommend a campsite, possibly with contact details near Nevers. This is my 1st tour and I arrive in Nevers by train at 8pm so would like somewhere near. Then I am cycling along the Eurovelo 6 to Nantes and then the Eurovelo 1 to Roscoff, the end of June and the start of July...

1st tour advice

I am planning my first tour and would appreciate thoughts on my plans. Overnight ferry from Plymouth to Roscoff, 2 days to cycle to Quimper, train to Bordeaux, leaving 12 days to cycle back to Roscoff. The plan is to follow the Eurovelo 1, but not to be rigid in the plan. Camping and B+B when wanted...

Re: Neo Air Venture sleeping mat

Thanks for all the info. I have been and bought the NeoAir VentureWV Regular. Got it from my local Cotswolds shop, £51 with my National Trust 15% discount.
So now just got to get fit for the 2 week trip end of June, early July.
