Re: Best Track pump under £25

I picked up the Aldi one for £3.99 a few years ago, the chuck feels odd and does not easily fit schrader, the presta part works well, the gauge seems pretty accurate and it is holding up well.

I use the same computer, I smeared the contacts with dielectric grease, though vaseline would be just as good.

Re: Raleigh pioneer deluxe

Mine is 18/30 steel, made in Nottingham, caliper brakes, with bendy plastic levers, indexed shimano ten speed with thumb shifters, proper mudguards and a brilliant plastic disc on the chainwheel that obviates the need for cycle clips, the frame paint needs a touch up, I might have a weinmann centrep...

Re: Raleigh pioneer deluxe

I picked up a Pioneer for £10 during the summer, I have stopped riding my Norco frankenbike, the only fly in the ointment is braking, which is hilarious, I fitted an alloy front rim from the pile and some rubber brake blocks, but its still dire! I serviced BB and head races, oiled everything else an...

I cable tied a length of alloy seatpost to the rack, all of my LED taillights came with seatpost fittings.

Re: Sea Sickness - any hints, tips, advice?

Former charter skipper putting in my 2 pennorth, Ginger or foods containing it, eyes on the horizon, stay on deck (I always put anyone in danger of chundering on the helm, worked every time) Stugeron seems to work at the expense of drowsiness, Pineapple chunks taste the same on the way up as they do...

Re: two brakes, one lever - is it legal?

A quick ebay search reveals a number of twin cable levers, I thought I spotted one on a BMX where it makes their gyro braking systems work.

I recall working on motorcycles where all of the allen bolts were wearing little caps, an ebay search for Allen bolt covers reveals you can buy them.

Re: Sturmey Archer Battery Tube & Paint

They did not all use the battery tube, my 49 Raleigh has front dynohub and large SA headlamp, also 4 speed rear hub, and appears never to have had a battery tube.
