Re: Walking boots - warranty claim query

It's a forum. I asked for opinions, which we then discussed. It's sort of what we do, but participation is entirely voluntary, as always.

You'll notice that I did their test, I guess.

Re: Walking boots - warranty claim query

I'd draw my Learned Friend's attention to my previous point: I think the point was that I had already provided more than convincing evidence of their boots' failure. Obviously not in their opinion. Quote Which all you like, they were not in any way attempting to deny you your consumer rights, they ...

Re: Best Bike (very) Overweight

Cycle to work scheme has no upper limit, this was a fallacy from day one, just that no-one knew about it, this has been made clear by the relevant minister as they are wanting people who need adapted cycles to be able to take advantage of the scheme. Notionally not, but effectively so, as employers...

Is it not beyond the capability of manufacturers to insert some sort of audible warning at the point pads need changing?

Re: Best Bike (very) Overweight

I can tell you from personal experience that very few cycle shop employees understand how to choose bikes for heavy people, which is why the OP was asking us about bikes with 32mm tyres. I am so tempted to open a bike shop for big folk. It's an untapped market, and I feel I could really help people...

It got rather more serious - he has a broken neck and will be in hospital for 6 weeks. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cycling/48646238 At 34, this is likely a career-ending injury, I suspect. I saw footage from his ride just before the crash when he was being advised to be careful whilst riding slowly ...

Re: Walking boots - warranty claim query

To me the obvious thing to do would have been to do their test. 1. It fails - they warranty them. 2. It passes, and you then explain why a static test isn't representative of a boot flexing in use. As it is it would have saved some emails back and forth. As for gooretx membranes in boots - hate the...

Re: Tower Block Disaster

To be fair, it was said very early on that in a case of this complexity, criminal liability could take several years to establish. What does puzzle is the continued fitment of unsafe cladding to many such blocks, which cannot be beyond our capability (employing as we do a Government) to resolve, sur...

Not upset, I'd say annoyed that I company I so obviously (by voting with my pocket) hold in high esteem. I've posted nowhere but here - I want to resolve this, and I'm not an internet review warrior. I was, and am, interested in other people's views on what they thought was and wasn't reasonable in...
