Re: Deterring mobile phone use

What point do you think you were making, if it wasn't that UK law requires people to aim to drive at or near the limit at some times? (which it doesn't) Not that one, thanks. 3C understood the point being made, clearly. By citing a different law applying to middle lane hogging which wasn't at all w...

Re: Hoy vs Boardman

Echoes my view. Nice things, and what I most enjoy is the feeling of, for want of a better word, precision not afforded by my other brakes. I sense that for me much of this comes from the absence of vibration associated with rim braking on ever-so-slightly out of round wheels.

He has certainly never reflected upon "beware the enemy within...." - needs to choose his armed guards carefully...…….. " After face-to-face talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Mr Trump contradicted US intelligence agencies and said there had been no reason for Russia to med...

Re: Deterring mobile phone use

This is to misrepresent the point I was making to make a point of your own choosing. But you know that, too. The entire post was: Then do consider, under UK law (no idea about Germany) whether you are making sufficient progress. But we're already in Groundhog territory now. What point do you think ...

Re: Deterring mobile phone use

I am taking about a vehicle travelling at a speed such that it becomes a hazard in that context equally as much as driving in excess of the prevailing limit. It was advice I was given as a learner driver, and is still the advice now, seemingly https://www.theorytestadvice.co.uk/driving-test/marking...

Then do consider, under UK law (no idea about Germany) whether you are making sufficient progress. But we're already in Groundhog territory now. Isn't the oft-misinterpreted speeder's friend about making progress in the driving standards rather than the law? If not, can you cite the law, please? I'...

Re: Deterring mobile phone use

The article mentions times when "fewer" workers are there The lanes are still narrow even if no work is being done Hgvs can do 56 mph, that is too fast for me in a car through narrow winding lanes The suggestion is like introducing a minimum speed limit by stealth Besides, to keep ahead o...

Re: Deterring mobile phone use

Why? There's no workforce to protect, and we've already rehearsed on here that this will reduce frustrations and in particular allow people to exceed the speed of a speed limited lorry.

Re: Oxford Bike Works?

Well, yes! I have looked at that also - but if I'm going a grand comes down to is the extra 350 quid "worth" it. Arguably it's more closely aligned to their full fat Expedition than the 1, being 8 speed, I think, as opposed to 9/10 speed. I'd find it hard to justify the extra spend, unles...
