Re: Review of Ridgeback Expedition 26" Bad News Update

Have just read this thread and wow £850 for a tourer gulp! I couldnt afford that still I crossed Sweden with an old £99 alu frame built up from bits and pieces lying around, trial and error . Settled on schwalbe marathons simply because thats what Marc Beaumont used. Used V brakes and the 26...

Re: Cycling - legal requirements across Europe?

Would not rely on wikipedia as it is inaccurate. Safe to assume all european countries require children to wear a helmet until 14/15/16 depending on country. As for germany this link makes good reading .. http://bicyclegermany.com/german_bicycle_laws.html or the official EU ... https://ec.europa.eu/...

Re: maps for expedition touring

Went my second tour (well first real one) with a printed map of the cycle routes of central sweden. Wasnt the smartest move but I got a free road map from a filling station in Nykopping between the two it just about got my son and I where we wanted to go. Re: Increasing restrictions on conveying cycles on trains

No SJ still dont allow bikes on trains unless folded. The train I took was the regional one from Boras to Goteborg then the Oresundtag. In Stockholm the pendletag takes bikes outside of the rush hours and runs as far south as Gnesta which puts you within cycling distance of Nykopping. The TBana does...

Re: touring on a trad touring bike?
