Re: Dutch Flyer

For info for anyone thinking of using the Dutch Flyer with a bike: I've just called Stena who tell me they no longer let you buy the bike ticket at Harwich despite their website saying you can due to problems they've had recently with too many people turning up with bikes and not being able to get ...

Took mine off today as I was sick of it making a noise as I cycled along our pot holes roads.

Re: Aviemore Youth Hostel

Aviemore isn't exactly a hot bed of crime. You probably don't need to bother locking your bikes at all but if you are worried, just chain the two bikes together opposite ways round. Thanks everyone for your contribution. I am just trying to not take a heavy D lock with us. I have now found an Airbn...

Aviemore Youth Hostel

Anyone stayed at Aviemore Youth Hostel with their bike.

Going to be there in a couple of months with a couple of bike and wondered what the cycle storage is like.

How secure is it?

Re: What is stopping women from cycling?

How about ... cycling through Newlyn last summer. Jules is on her e-bike. She has a chronic ankle injury with considerable nerve damage and cannot cope with a standard bike. At the traffic lights near the fish market a MAMIL in his Penzance Wheelers C.C. shirt shouts abuse at her for using an e-bik...

Anyone found a suitable switch that they use inline to a dynamo light that does not have a switch?

Rode up the coast last year across the dykes. Bloody hard work when the wind is against you.

We had a good time though.

Re: Broken Wrist !

My wife did this last year, two weeks before we were due to do a LEJOG. She had 3 pins put in the next day and a cast put on. Four weeks later she had the pins taken out and the next week we went for for a weeks tour of southern Holland by bike, camping each night. She rode with front and rear panni...
