Re: Can anyone recommend to me a breathable, brightly coloured & reflective waterproof jacket?

Re: the reflective / breathability problem reading about the Resolute Bay jackets they say that their reflective detail is integrated as the reflective stripes are woven into the fabric and so maybe this will help alleviate some of the issues.

Time will tell when I get the jacket.

Re: Can anyone recommend to me a breathable, brightly coloured & reflective waterproof jacket?

Hi Paul, Many thanks for your message which is much appreciated for the tips and ideas. Also thanks for the offer of trying your jacket on which is very kind but I'm in Norfolk and so too far away to take you up on the offer. Based on the jackets that I've found I'd pretty much narrowed it down to g...

Re: Can anyone recommend to me a breathable, brightly coloured & reflective waterproof jacket?

Hi Brian, Thanks for your message and that's a funny coincidence that you also have the Vulpine Harrington jacket. You're message is really helpful because that confirms that in terms of what I want from the specific jacket right now I don't think the Vulpine one would be quite right for this circum...

Re: Can anyone recommend to me a breathable, brightly coloured & reflective waterproof jacket?

Hi julk, Jamesh, Mike & NUKe, Many thanks for your replies and suggestions and I'll take a good look at all of the options mentioned! My extremely quick thoughts based just on a quick instant look at the ideas are as follows but I need to take a closer look and read/research more about the optio...

Can anyone recommend to me a breathable, brightly coloured & reflective waterproof jacket?

Hello All, Could anyone recommend to me a breathable waterproof jacket which comes in a bright colour and has reflective material on? I’m hoping that I’m not searching for some kind of unicorn jacket that doesn’t exist. When it comes to the attributes of the jacket I don’t know if I’m asking too muc...

Can anyone recommend some rechargeable lights (front & rear) to fit on a bike with a basket & rear rack?

Hi All, I wondered if anybody could recommend some lights, both front and rear, for my wifes bike? I think that what I'm after is lights which are USB rechargeable. Whilst I really like dynamo lights and have them on my own bike for commuting over distance including on unlit lanes that's not the use...

Mudguard recommendations for a childs bike with I think 20 inch wheels?

Hi All, I'm looking at buying a secondhand childs bike which is an Islabike Beinn 20 Large. The bike doesn't come with mudguards and I knew that Islabike sell mudguards and so I went to them to buy some but the mudgaurds that they make/sell are in two categories. They sell mudguards that are suitabl...

Re: Gravel Bikes Advice Required

Hi again,

Actually my apologies because I've just realised that the bike has to have SRAM Rival 1x and that'll teach me for reading things too quickly.

Sorry!

Re: Gravel Bikes Advice Required

Hi Steviemoo, Appreciate that you already have lots of advice, including on the frame geometry, about the bikes that you're considering as well as some alternative options. I've not had time to read those posts in detail yet but just responding to your initial message and whether there are any other...

Re: Shimano Alfine 8 home maintenance - where to start?

Hi ElCani, I've been reading this with interest and I'm sorry to hear that in the past you've had problems with your Alfine hub. However going by the correspondence between you and Brucey above it seems as if you've got things fixed now with your hub running better than ever and so fingers crossed y...

Re: Can I permanently run tubeless tyres with inner tubes and new tyre recommendations?

Hi again, I thought I'd just look at the websites of other companies just to see if I have any other options. Firstly I looked at the Hutchinson website and you could put in the tyre size, as well as other search criteria if you wanted but I didn't add anuything else, and then see what tyres they do...

Re: Can I permanently run tubeless tyres with inner tubes and new tyre recommendations?

Hi Brucey,

Thanks again for your message and insight.

The experience of the mechanic you refer to in your message is exactly one of the reasons that I'm presently in no rush to switch to using a tubeless tyre set up.

Thanks,

John

Re: Can I permanently run tubeless tyres with inner tubes and new tyre recommendations?

Thanks again for all of the extra replies and info which is much appreciated! Hi The utility cyclist, Thanks for your message and for your recommendations.
