Re: European Elections

Unless there's a Monster Raving Loony candidate I don't think I'll bother.

The Brexit Party were off to a flying start...and then along comes Ann Has-been-icombe.

The state of politics in the EU, and UK in particular, is parlous. It's like Coronation Street, but with even less credible scripts.

Re: End of Pensioner "Perks"

I love the Lord's claim that "on average" pensioners are better off than those who are working. I wonder where they got their numbers from? Lord Winston, perhaps?

Re: Who are the best/worst drivers on the road?

They are indeed, all the more reason to not buy one and drive it round half empty. My old Smart is stubbornly refusing to die. If/when it ever does, and if I still have a use for a car, then it'll be an electric Smart. I would get a Twizy, but the battery lease is a put-off. Indeed, a recent study f...

Re: Who are the best/worst drivers on the road?

I know its verging off topic, but it's an observation worth making. You get these plums who buy a Leaf out of some misguided environmental desire, and then utterly negate the whole point by driving around with 4 empty seats almost all the time. Towing around over twice as much mass as you require is...

Re: No hair - advantages/disadvantages

Yul shaved his noggin for The King and I, and liked it so much he kept it going afterwards. It's a good look.

I did go through a phase of Bic'ing mine daily, or near daily, but it's just too high maintenance. Reverted to weekly number Zero's instead.

Re: Talk of old vehicles

I'd love a Mircocar, woud make my Smart seem big  I nearly bought a Replicar Cursor a while back, but had no way of getting it home. Kicking myself now, as I since discovered they only made 100 or so.

Re: shared use

Nonsense? I teach this stuff at the highest level. If you choose to disagree with long standing qualified and accredited expert level practitioners, that's absolutely your prerogative and I'm cool with that - the world would be dull if everyone blindly disagreed, and if you have some learning or log...

Re: shared use

That's a matter of luck as much as judgment, I hit a pedestrian at a set of lights last week. They stepped out in front of my as I was pulling away, they were stopped in conversation as I sat there waiting for the lights to change and simply stepped out without any indication that they were going t...

Re: How five Leeds renters triumphed over their landlord

The landlord broke the law, of that there is no question. It is quite right he be dealt with for that, and be subject to a fine or sanction as prescribed by law. The tenants actually received the service for which they had paid, and a decent quality service at that, so what is the justification for ...

Re: Talk of old vehicles

Mrs Dopestrong has a Motability car (she has Multiple Sclerosis, and mobility issues). Unfortunately for any one unfortunate enough to buy her car after we return it, she was a police response and pursuit driver and I suspect she thinks she still is. Anyone thinking they're buying a car that's bee c...

Re: No hair - advantages/disadvantages

Being bald up top doesn't worry me. However, I would miss the rug on my chest. Denim shirt slashed open to the waist to reveal a medallion nestling in a bed of chest hair is just about the manliest thing in the World.

Hairless legs and arms, or something more intimate? When i were a copper, many decades ago...I had a young colleague who was quite likeable, albeit a bit dense. He came to work one day telling us about how he had shaved his wee chap, and was regaling us with his girlfriends apparent amazement...
