Re: New West Sussex Section of NCN2

I'm quite looking forward to this build - that stretch isn't the most comfortable and the current cyclepath off the road bridge from Littlehampton suddenly stops at railings at the roundabout which leaves you not only trapped but in the wrong place. The NCN2 current route takes you on a nice quiet d...

Re: Downslink works: Bramber to Shoreham-by-Sea

Rode the whole route the other month on my tourer and nothing it could not cope with. I only had a single light pannier, but even fully loaded it would be fine - although the surface is bumpy for lengths at a time so getting to paved road was nice in the end! If you are touring and it's a good route...

Re: new cycling paths

A27 between Lancing and Shoreham Airport, I've noted this is work in progress for a while. I have no problems doing the short trip along the dualed A27 as far as Shoreham to turn off to the side roads, but others I have been with do not like it. The alternative is twice the distance along the seafro...

Re: Protest & Die-In: National Funeral

It's not maybe intended to be focussed on cycling only (ie, road deaths are road deaths regardless of if you are walking, riding, driving) but the posters and coverage in papers, youtube etc... all show hundreds of cyclists causing disruption and giving the impression it is because cycling is so dan...

Re: Have you been knocked OFF in a collision while cycling?

Had various near misses which I've either taken measures to prevent a collision or I've determined the possibility of a collision before it has become one and taken action. The only real collision is with a pedestrian on a shared path who suddenly walked into my path. I was only doing probably 8-10m...

Re: It's not just cyclists then...

It does show what I always think when it comes to a lot of motorist v cyclist debates. It is not so much one party determined not to like the other, but more how society is a lot of the times now where people believe they are entitled to everything and will make a big fuss if they don't get their wa...

Re: Lewes Road Brighton- new facility any good?

Both Lewes Road (main route to the Universities) and Upper Shoreham Road have had quite good cycle paths added - both been controversial. Unfortunately for Lewes road, what was a dual carriageway into and out of Brighton is now a single lane road with the rest being used by bus lane and cycle lane, ...
