CRC was 12 months, but they like Wiggle have folded. Returns certainly were 28 days from order for past month of so, but I'm not taking my chances now.
Sadly they'll become another Sports Direct discount acquisition (the site 'holding page' is liking to EvansCycles now), which means I'll never be shopping from them again.
Ah that's a shame; I knew things were bad but I hadn't realised they were gone completely now. Thanks for update and especially for the shoe fit info above - priceless stuff! [emoji108]

Re: DT Swiss Disc Brake Wheelset

I can only find these listed as rims rather than a wheelset; do you know what hubs they are built onto please (or point me at the set if I've missed them)? Also it looks from the little photo tabs like they might be centrelock?

Cheers!

Are you for real ???
Why would I like to know what they are and what size they are (and therefore what bikes they fit)? Really?

The majority of those hubs were used in 26" mountainbike wheels, those look like 700c but it's easy to be mistaken from a photograph. Mavic made many rims; some I'd be interested in buying, some less so, are you keeping them a secret for some reason?! [emoji23]

Re: Retro mavic wheelset on hope hubs

I'm assuming these are 700c? What rims are they please?

Also I'd guess those hubs are '91-93 and strongly suggest giving them a really thorough check for cracked flanged (tiny hairlines where they press over the shell) as the majority suffered that way, sadly. Although if you're brave enough you can get a fair number of miles out of them before catastrophic failure! [emoji38]

Does the hinged logo rotate to allow the brake to release more cable. ie. A quick release function.
Looks like it says 'RELEASE', so I'm guessing you're correct, very neat!

At the risk of showing my age... I used to buy from them when you had to fill in the order form that was part of their magazine adverts [emoji1787]

Very much appreciated, thank you so much.

I'm always a bit cagey about random ebay suppliers I've never heard of from a counterfeit perspective - any idea if this is reputable?
Wooly Hat Shop have been the go-to discount place for literally decades, no issues there [emoji41][emoji108] Also worth checking the quantity feedback on eBay for some indication of the reputability (if that's a word! [emoji38]) - knocking on half a million in this case!

A slight aside - looking online, few mention Mirage. That may be bad news?
I've used - and enjoyed - 9sp Mirage with no issues, although the finish isn't the best, not bad, just mediocre.

Re: Pushing RD capacity again? Now in Italian!

My 10sp Chorus short cage mech is happily running 13-29, with a compact (110mm bcd) 34/50, which works well for me in the Peak District.

Your BCD is very likely 135mm, I think TA do a 38t but there's a chance your chain will foul the tabs on the crank spider, just depends.

What kind of BB do you have? If it's square taper then beware it's likely to be ISO and might need replacing with JIS if you swap to a different brand of chainset, and there's a good chance Pinerello will use an Italian BB thread (70mm shell). This is definitely one to be sure to get right first time! [emoji6]Image

I was reflecting on the several pages devoted to a sleeping bag liner of all things.

But in our defence I would say that we are trying to create an effective, comfortable, warm, easily maintained, protected from damp and condensation system of bedding that can see us through a huge range of temperature ( -5 deg C to +35 deg C?) while being carried on a bicycle, going uphill.

I haven't added "at a reasonable cost" as I think just getting the first lot right is hard enough. Cycle camping is surely a mixture of craft, experience, adaption and "technology". Given that many people cringe at the thought of camping, let alone doing it on just a bicycle, I think we are doing rather well and the obsession is fully justified. :D

No to the bushings in the v12's -- there's a thread here about ball bearings in pedals -- I think Brucey started it. -- I'll get a link.
While I've absolutely no doubt that thread will be both interesting and enlightening, the fact remains that they run & run (& run) in the harshest of conditions and when they finally do require attention, rebuild kits are readily available and you can have them back to good as new in the time it takes the kettle to boil. There's good reason that they're legendary amongst mountainbikers.
