Gear changing with stiff fingers/wrist
I am looking to get a new bike but unsure which gears will suit best.
Twist grip is difficult to operate due to lack of strong grip.
I am hoping fot a gear range of 20" to 100" for touring.
Rolhoff is gripshift operated but stiff for me.
Please can someone assist ?

Re: Ticks and wild camping!!!
I camped near Drumnadroichit in Scotland and like normal wore long trousers but collected 2 ticks when going to the loo at 2am !
I do carry a tick remover but didn't see them for 2 days.
I removed them and both and was okay.
Basically the local hospital said you will get a 4" ring around the bite if you have been infected.

Re: Getting to The Way of the Roses
We live in Ayr, Scotland
I cycled the Way of the Roses in April and caught the train to Scarborough then cycled to Bridlington.
We caught the train to Scarborough via Edinburgh and York.
We then had a great ride on quiet roads stopping firstly at the Buddhist centre in Pocklington ( a great stay )
We finally caught the train home from Lancaster which is on the West Coast Train Line.
We booked bikes when we could but trains to Glasgow were not bookable, first come first to get a place.

Re: Tarp talk
I am looking into designing my own tarp/cape but this is for hiking in Turkey when rain is not normally expected and weight is vital.
The Gatewood tarp/cape looks interesting.
The older I get the lighter I must travel !
For cycle camping I feel I can travel a little heavier and use a Hilleberg Atko.
Especially in the UK when weather is so changeable.
Anyone interested in assisting with ideas please reply.
