Thanks Jonathan. I have indeed typed my list of questions and in the two appointments I have had with the consultatnt he has been made fully aware of the centrality of cycling to my life. He kept referring to the CRT-D device as the Porsche of pacemakers. I suggested he meant Pinarello but he wasn't familiar with cycling brands lol.
The consultant told me not to use an HR monitor as arrythmias would make it inaccurate and I might push to hard. I have switched to a Specialized Creo ebike since this all kicked off and that enables me to join club rides and use the power to avoid over-exertion.Of course I'm hoping to go back to my normal road bike after the implant ...

CRT-D devices and cycling
I'm having a CRT-D device fitted on Sunday to correct Left Bundle Branch Block and hopefully improve the pumping function of my left ventricle. CRT is a bi-ventricular pacing device. The D is for Deifibrillator. Apparently I have non-ischaemic cardiomyopathy, almost certainly caused by Covid contracted whilst cycling through France last summer.
I wondered if anyone here has experience of these devices and of course the impact on their cycling. I believe they are 'rate -responsive', but they can't always tell how much you are are exercising when cycling because your upper body is still. Any related experiences would be helpful. I'm going for a pre-assessment this afternoon and have lots of questions.
