Re: Thorn Audax Mk4 or Spa Elan (steel)

Whilst no experience of the Spa Elan, I have both the Thorn Audax Mark 3 and Spa Steel Audax in my stable. Whilst they are not built up exactly the same, not that dissimilar, would agree the Thorn is heavier. Which do I prefer to ride, that depends. If going out for a quick ride with friends who wil...

Map Case

I have tried various options to carry a map on my handlebars. The best solution I found was a map case with velcro straps that attached to the handlebars, it then just lay on top of the brake cables. I seem to have lost it and cannot find anything similar at any of the major internet cycleshops. Can...

Re: GPS E trek 30 v's Memory Map Adventure

If buying an E trek, just for cycling, does the 30 give much advantage over the 20 ?

Re: looking to upgrade my Xenon front light to LED as opposed t

Just do it, you will not be disappointed. I originally had the IQ Fly which was a revelation in lighting, I changed to the Schmidt Edelux as it seemed more robust and looked nicer, not certain the extra cost gave a significant improvement in lighting. I ride with a couple of friends who have the IQ ...

Tyre width- Front and rear different

As I understand it, 55% of a bikes weight goes through the back wheel and 45% through the front, traction also all goes through the rear wheel. Luggage also tends to be carried, at least initially, over the back wheel. Is there any advantage, or for that matter disadvantage. in having a wider tyre on...

Re: vangto tents

The great thing about Vango, is that they make a wide range of tents, and this expertise filters down to the less expensive end of their range. I have used a number of the cheaper tents, all with fibreglass poles, and have not been disappointed. Currently also looking for something lighter to cycle-c...

The rack is too tall.

Rack pack will not fit under saddle.

I did not realise two sizes are available.

Certainly seems that the one designed for 26ins wheels would fit and be a good option.

Thanks everyone.

Tubus Logo Rack

The current rear rack I have, Tortec Expedition, is very tall.

Thinking of replacing with a Tubus Logo, but wish to avoid the same problem again.

Can anybody tell me how tall the Tubus rack is.

I do and don't.

Sometimes it just not fit in time wise.

Whilst I like to ride with a group of likeminded souls I do also enjoy the solitude of a solo ride.

Depends what I want out of a ride !!!!!!!
