Re: Spare cat?

But a Tom who isn't neutered often starts "spreading his scent" around the house...a friend of mine had to throw out a chair that he had peed on several times....if you keep him....get him fixed !!

Re: Cheap saddles

I was on the forum this evening and remembered my post about my cheap saddle... It's still perfectly ok after two and a half years !!....and when I bought it I thought "If I get six months out of it I can't grumble"....and it's still comfy as ever. And I haven't needed a "Rectumotomy&...

Re: lincolngrandprix

I always go to see the Lincoln Grand Prix....wouldn't miss it for anything. It always amazes me how these men manage to cover 86 miles in less than three and a half hours. And it's eleven laps each of eight miles...up Michaelgate each lap...any of you cycled up there?....a one in six gradient and on...

Re: Waiting for the sun to melt the frost

Anyone live in the Lincoln area?

Hello everyone, Anyone on the forum live in the Lincoln area? We are forming a cycling group based in Lincoln...but any where nearby is ok...and it's suggested that it's for 35 year olds or over (but this is not strictly enforced) What we want is a friendly group to go on steady rides...no really gr...

Re: The chain cleaning gospel according to Mick F

The way my chain lasts longest ? When I've fitted a new one (I inspect the rear cassette first) is to just keep feeling the chain....if my finger comes off black then it's ok...when I check and there's hardly any black there,I put a LITTLE bit of lube on....I like Pedro's dry lube...it attracts very...

Re: Cheap saddles

Hiya,JohnW, I'm not a long distance or a speed ace cyclist...my bike is my only means of transport....used for shopping, visiting family and whatever. The saddle is a "Massi"...I had never heard the name before I bought it....I intended it to be an emergency replacement when my expensive on...

Re: ...anything about Alex DH19 rims

I was browsing the forum a couple of days ago and came across this thread...it's a bit old now,and lost me in it's technicalities...BUT.... My Orbit bike has Alex DH30 rims...there are then 8 dots after the letters...it has double butted spokes front, and single butted rear (whatever that means) acco...

Re: Cheap saddles

I've been looking through "my posts" and came upon the one about my cheap saddle...after over two years that cheapo is still going strong, and is still as comfy as ever....it cost £7.50 !! It's a bit scuffed on the side, where the bottom (no pun intended)of the range plastic covering has giv...

Re: Icy fall this morning ....

I too fell on the ice yesterday...it was almost all gone,so I thought "Safe for a ride now",and I set off, just for a bit of a steady cruise round the nearby roads...I hadn't ridden for a few days, and was suffering withdrawal symptoms. The bike track was still quite risky,so I went onto the...

Re: Waterproof Jacket < £60 budget - Recommendations

For years I've used a Berghaus hiking jacket...waterproof (very),and breathable,so you don't get wet with your own sweat.I don't think it's absolutely windproof, but in cold weather I put on plenty of layers underneath....I'm not a high speed cyclist.I also use it in Summer for rainy rides and don't ...

Re: My day has just been made

Yes,I remember them all....what were Dick Barton's assistants called?....I seem to remember Snowey White and Jock Anderson...the signature tune was (I think) "The Devil's Gallop"...the excitment of waiting for it to come on in the evenings !! and each episode was only 15 minutes.
