Re: Air Source Heat Pumps

Thanks for all the replies - plenty to look into there.
I'm off work for the next 2 days so will hopefully get time to have a look and digest the information.

@Paulatic - do you use yours for cooling in the summer as well ?

Air Source Heat Pumps

Does anyone have any experience of Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs).
We are looking into whether this may be a viable option for us. We currently have soalr panels and our main bedroom is south facing so gets and stays very hot in the summer - we were wondering whether we might use ASHPs for cooling as well as heating.
Are there any major disadvantages over conventional heating systems we should be aware of?
Has anyne any recommendations on installers in the Midlands?

Thanks in advance for any opinions

Re: The WIMPS JOGLE 2020

Thanks both, much appreciated.

Re campsites - we might have more difficulty booking and also higher cost this time as when we did LeJoG we did it in June out of high season. There are quite a few sites in the main holiday season that dont like singl night bookings.
I suppose the first thing to do would be to contact th sites we were happy with and see if they have any objections to us using them again?
We probably need a good idea of numbers first though.

Re: The WIMPS JOGLE 2020

Unfortunately, it's unlikely I'll be able to make it as I will struggle to be able to gt two consecutive weeks away from work. However I am happy to help with planning again if needed.

I'd hope to be able to join you for a few days if that's ok?

Re: The WIMPS JOGLE 2020

With long travel times up to JOG can I suggest:
Saturday 15th August travel to JOG
Ride Sunday 16th for 14 days arriving at LE on Saturday 29th August.

This give people the Sunday to travel home and bank holiday Monday to have a rest before gong back to work on the Tuesday - for those who still work!

Mine will probably be on top of the car - from memory of Stafford you got yours into the boot of quite a small car?

When are you travelling up Pete? If you are going up on Friday afternoon the you could meet us at Tamworth and leave your car at ours, and trave up with us - Lynda will be driving from Barrow down to Glasson Dock.

Re: The WIMPS Morecambe Bay Xmas Ride..

Are you able to sort a static van for Saturday night - I've been looking at hotels in Grange but a static van might be a better option if one is available.

Be great to catch up with everyone again, Lynda is looking forward to seeing Jules. Are you travelling up on Friday?

Wiggins Chartres is currently £40 off @ £210 - seems to tick all of the boxes and 8.8kg

I like the challenge of the whole route, plus I was hoping to do the whole route on my Uncle John's bike. We talked about the trip and he wanted me to have his bike before he passed away. It would mean a lot to me. I'd possibly be up for a Scotland plus islands ride but End to End would definitely be my preference.....

If enough of the Wimps decide Jogle it will happen I'm trying to keep the gang together but nothing is cast in concrete

Why can't we look at combining both?
Do a Scottish Tour next year ending at the Borders and then the following year, those who want to do the full JOGLE start at JOG and those that don't, meet with them at the Scottish borders and then all ride down to LE as the full WIMPS group?

Sorry to hear that C2C will be your last multi-day ride Ken, but you are right family and health have to come first.
