Re: Bike boxes at Biarritz Airport.

Hi
Very useful information. Perhaps the forum could compile a list of airports that supply bike boxes

Re: Ile d'oleron

Hi I have done all the bridges in that area and never had a problem with any of them as all have a cycle lane. Some of the bridges are a little narrow and steep but think the Ile D'Oleron was easy. Will be there end of August hopefully and can double check. How are you getting to La Tremblade in the...

Hi Tyre lady.
I knew you would be fine.
The first few days always seem the most difficult.

Re: Flying with a Bike

I have flown with BA Gatwick to Nice twice now with my bike in the CTC poly bag with just the handlebars turned and pedals removed.

The staff have all been very helpful and no problem with the oversize luggage.

To date the poly bag has not suffered any damage let alone the bike.

Re: Le Touquet cycling

Hi,
I have flown into there a few times.
I have not hired the bikes but the hire centre looked ok and the bikes looked in good condition but not sure about locks though.
Also it is a great place to cycle to see everything.

Re: Route suggestions in the Nice - Marseille region

Hi, Depends when you travel. May/ June not so busy but good weather. Just off to Nice again next week and expect all the roads will be ok to ride. Also there are loads of cycle paths along the coast. I have not ridden in or out of Marseille though but have never had any trouble in cities in France.

Re: Dijon to Montpellier suggestions

Hi

I don't like the River Rhone route. I would prefer to stay to the west of Lyon but it is not flat.
My favourite area would be the Ardeche, Uzes, Pont du Gard then on to Nimes.

Also it is going to be hot!
