Re: Ribble Cycles

I was in Ribble today. Shop has closed down after over 100 years of a bike shop at the original site. They have moved to an industrial site on the outskirts of preston due to most of their business being mail order and internet. For locals you can reserve and collect. Place seemed to be thriving and...

Re: Netbooks for Navigation

My asus netbook lasts 8.5 hours according to manufacturer. i'm not daft enough to belive that but it does last quite a while and is the reason I went for that model as most netbooks are a similar spec.

I wear galsses most of the time to keep stuff out but I also find the constant breeze makes my eyes very tired and watery.

Re: Cheque made out to who ? Ins payout

I did once have to claim for a stolen mountain bike and the insurance companies preferred supplier rang me to discuss replacement. I told them my bike was an Orange to which they replied we can do you a Specialized. I didn't want that but the same as I had. I then asked the insurance company to send...

Re: Cheque made out to who ? Ins payout

Thanks for that Gaz. Looks like I'll just have to wait and see. I'm hoping they'll sort my bike sooner rather than later as the solicitor is claiming for mileage as I use it for work and I'm currently commuting in the car.

New bike time.

Got my crash damaged bike back from that nice Mr Hewitt's today after a look see for insurance quote. I thought a few scraped bits would need replacing. The car hit me more than the bike so I thought the damage wasn't too severe. Back end is now 1/2 inch out of line. So its looking like a ne...

Re: How cycle-friendly are Travelodges?

There were three of us and we were on the first floor. The girl on reception thought we 'd have more room using laundry room. I must admit three bikes with panniers in a family room would have been a squeeze.

Re: How cycle-friendly are Travelodges?

We stayed at the travel lodge at Dumbarton on our lejog after a horrendous day of rain. The girl on reception rang her boss who told her to put the bikes in a locked laundry room. They were very helpful. We were going to chain them up outside but staff we very reluctant for us to do that.
