Re: Chinese Carbon Frame + Seat post issues on another bike

Hi nathb, I'm considering the same frame as you have for commuting and some weekend riding (probably mostly road and maybe some gravel). Can you give me your quick thoughts on the CX-002 frame? What site did you buy it from? Are there any defective areas you noticed? How rigid is it? How's it been ...

Picture Request: TOB Stage 8 in London

Does anyone have any pictures of the TOB event before the pros went out? Around 12pm-1pm.

If you do, please could you share? :)

Apologies if this is in the wrong section!

Done :D http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r129/nathb89/Bike/1AC37451-1765-44C6-BB9A-A32ADC820F02.jpg Frame weighed 1030g, forks 436g uncut. Total build weight is 8.9kg - It's my commuter so I didn't go OTT plus I've still got the winter tyres on. P.s. the decking is on my to do list.

Re: Bike Shop Customer Service... Where from here?

Hi XXX I'm actually appalled at that response, and the level of customer service I have received from planetx the moment you received my frame set back. Needless to say I will not be handing over any more cash to planetx. Last week due to lack of response, demonstrating a clear lack of willingness ...

Re: Bike Shop Customer Service... Where from here?

Good news from the bank - money refunded but PX have 45 days to respond to them.

Good job as the new frameset was ordered yesterday. :D

Re: Geometry Help - Picking a new frame

Sorry, i have lost the direction of this..... Felt is 74 deg 45mm offset......thats quick handling.....uncomfortably quick for me 72 deg 45mm is pretty standard audax bike type handling, although as a fan of slow handling I actually prefer 71.5 deg 45mm London Road at 71 deg 45mm is really slow han...

Re: Geometry Help - Picking a new frame

I would think the Felt's handling would be "very quick". I like to look at stuff other than the road I'm riding on, so quick handling and me don't get on too well. Pity your "other" bike geo. doesn't list fork offset, with 71 deg head it would need a massive offset to get the st...

Re: Bike Shop Customer Service... Where from here?

I have had experience of this supplier which has been similarly bizarre and useless. I had ordered a bunch of items which didn't arrive within two weeks, so I contacted them and told them i needed them for a trip a week later; they told me my package had been sent to a different customer and they w...

Re: Bike Shop Customer Service... Where from here?

5 weeks today they have had the frameset and I get this: Apologies for you not having a reply sooner, so our warranty team asked me to contact you regarding your London Road frameset. Further to Alex's email, we were unable to replicate the creaking with just the frame, hence the conclusion with the...

Thanks Foxyrider. You have given me some hope that what I'm after is feasible. I'll have a look at London Road frames. I'm a trendy consumer. Just look at my D5803 using hovercraft full of eels. My advice, don't do it: http://forum.cyclinguk.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=106647 http://singletrackworl...

Re: Geometry Help - Picking a new frame

2 bikes with the same "trail" achieved with different head angle and offset will steer similarly.....true or false? What do you like about the Felt? steering? stiffness? comfort? riding position? balance? acceleration? stability? climbing? wide sweeping bends at 30 mph? tight corners at 2...

Re: Geometry Help - Picking a new frame

you are quite right to worry about top tube length but it isn't a good idea to become fixated on this such that you don't allow for variations in seat angle. A slacker seat angle (with the same length top tube) will shorten the reach in the same way as a shorter top tube will. cheers Cheers! Classi...
