my jogle cost was around the £400 that is hired van , b&b , yha , camping as we did some wild camping to cut costs down , even food , that was may 2017.
I am a pure cheapskate at best of times , i did however purchase a tent £2 , panniers carrdice £1 from carboot sale .

i did that section in 2015 , with 700 x 32 tyres with fully laden panniers with no punctures , surface is not bad , nearer the road there is a bit of debris now and again , but it dips downa bit if you go to

day 8 , linwater park -- is a great park if doing a charity they will help you , stayed there 2016 , fresh free range eegs , mmmmalso you can order outright to the park ,

i did john o groats to tongue , not for the faithearted , loaded cycle windy as hell , isolated in most areas .
Black isle section to inverness busy as hell
But that is cycling i guess

i did parts of it in june , and it was a nightmare in places , hopefully proper signs are put in place , o and wait until you see the barren lands up top. i cycled over 30 miles never seen a soul .

July and August are rarely very good months to cycle or camp in Scotland (especially the west), the last two summers were exceptions, much better to go in May, June, or September, although this year even they were pretty poor, April was quite good though. know the feeling to well , my knee went last year , i put it down to all my kit . this year i fractured my ankle in jan , did 500 + in june from john o groats to mull of galloway , it has stil not healed properly , so was in pain from time to time . good luck hope it heals good

In June this year 3 of set off from John O Groats to the Mull of Galloway , mapping stated 500 miles i gave up counting at 570 miles , we did this in 7 days . really love your photos , i did 500+ in june when you posted this , north to south zigzag across the country , some of your route as well , in 7 days fully loaded , no transport apart from bike .
you missed out the southern part of scotland which has some great country .

we did jog tothe mull o galloway in june past , and desolate area up north is no joke , as for the a9 it is a bloody experience doing that. but loved the blog you done thinking of doing jogle in 2017 as i got family stuff next year and trying to fit it in would be impossible .
