Hi
Does anyone know a supplier of traditional, black, brake cable housing - with the longitudinal ribs?
I’ve found someone via eBay but they only sell white

Loose nipples and spokes

Have just bought a wheelset secondhand for winter use. On my second ride out I heard a rattling from the front wheel. I found that 3 spokes had come completely loose, not broken. The nipples were inside the rim. The wheel are in good nick and we're running true. On examining the 3 spokes they still ...

Re: Gear cable for vintage Huret gear shifter

Thanks for all the suggestions. All oft these newer cables have larger nipples - just been into my local bike shop and they are able to order me one in. -.as I said the nipple is small - only 5mm diameter

Re: Gear cable for vintage Huret gear shifter

Thanks Brucey

Yes, my fallback is to adapt a cable with a larger nipple. It doesn't articulate so that wouldn't be an issue

Gear cable for vintage Huret gear shifter

Hi

Does anyone know where I can find a cable to fit an older style, down tube, gearshifter?

The old cable has a small, flat, circular nipple that sits inside the Huret shifter. It's much smaller an the modern ones - 5mm in diameter.

Thanks

Re: Shimano 10 and 11 speed interchangeability

Thanks The chainset is a Shimano FC-RS500 The other parts are Tiagra 10 speed The problem I've had is with indexing the gears across all 10 sprockets - get it working well on the smaller cogs and then it won't move up to the 2 largest I have checked the chain win a measure and it doesn't need changi...

Shimano 10 and 11 speed interchangeability

Hi
Can anyone advise me whether a shimano 11 speed chainset would work ok with all other shimano 10 speed drive chain components ( chain, cassette and rear mech )?

I am having problems with a bike and just find out that my chainset is probably 11 speed.
Thanks

Taking a bike into nz

Hi
Does anyone have experience of taking a bike to New Zealand?
I know you have to declare used bikes upon arrival and they may need to be cleaned.
I wondered if there is anything you can do in advance to ease things.
Thanks

Re: Regreasing a 6 speed block

Thanks gas
I had some advice from a friend to just run in some oil. It does run fine so I may do that and avoid a messy job.
