Re: TA Cyclotourist/Stronglight 49d

I know the rings are interchangeable and assumed the BBS are. In that case I will need to decide which set of cranks to use

TA Cyclotourist/Stronglight 49d

Does anybody know of a good quality sealed BB which is compatible for this type of chainset. I know I can buy a TA one from Spa cycles, but you are looking at £100 plus

Longridge cycle jumbles 2019

I can’t find any reference in the 2019 diary of Jumble events for anything being held at Longridge this year. Is it just a mistake, or are there none planned?

Frame renovation work

Does anybody on here know of somebody local to me in Lytham St Annes who could undertake some frame renovation work. I want a few items removing, cable guides etc, bottle case bosses added and the rear ends restored to their original track ends ???

Airnimal Chameleon advice

I have just bought a second hand Chameleon, to leave at my caravan up in the lakes, it has a good gear range so I am quite looking forward to getting out on in once I have managed to loose the required pounds, but I have a question about it. On putting it together there appears to be some slack betw...

TA Cyclotourist single BB

Hi
I want to fit a single TA Cycletourist chain set to my road path frame, but am unsure what sealed BB this would be compatible with. Does anybody on here know of a compatible single BB ??

Re: Anybody recognise this??

I thought the unusual numbering around the downtube lug might have helped, but it appears it hasnt

Re: Anybody recognise this??

I don't know if this will help with identification, but the frame number is actually stamped around the bottom of the downtube lug rather than just across the BB and the 3 braze ons under the downtube are actually cable guides which look to be more likely for dynamo cables

Re: Anybody recognise this??

Its amazing how many frames there are out there with no decals left on them, so there is no idea who built them

Re: Anybody recognise this??

Same in Liverpool where I originate from, probably nearer 6 or 7 of them, don't think there are any builders left now in the city. I would rather leave the frame blank than fit a possible builders details

Re: Anybody recognise this??

Certainly looks nice, but I have sent 2 of my frames, Longstaffe tandem and Mercian pro lugless off to Argos to be refurbished. I had always used Mercian, but IMHO, they seem a bit pricey now

Re: Anybody recognise this??

Just rang Mercian to see if they could enlighten me. Obviously they wouldn't give me any information over the phone but they could tell me that they have lost the records dating back to 1971, so maybe I will never know, I will have to look to see if there is a builders unique number present

Re: Anybody recognise this??

Its funny you should say you had one fitted by Mercian on your custom frame, it has been suggested to me that this may well be a Mercian, Number 71 of 1971?? Now that would be a coincidence
