Re: Cannondale Synapse

How did you attach the rack? Hi The rack is an Axiom Streamliner Road Deluxe and fits at the top on the brake attachment and on the bottom on a dedicated attachment if you have one or onto the axle. Simple to fit and I had no problems with it whatsoever carrying about 15kg of stuff. http://www.tred...

I'm a bit late coming to this but this was my set up for LEJOG last May. No problems at all. Tyres were 700 25 Gatorskins and I had a SRAM gear set up to give me lower gear ratios for the never ending hills.

Re: ROUTE ADVICE - GLENCOE TO FORT AUGUSTUS

Hi All Just got back from LEJOG and with respect to the experience from "hilloverthehill", I can quite honestly say the biggest error I made on the whole LEJOG was taking the Great Glen Way route through Clunes Forest. I was on 700x25s (thank god they were Gatorskins) and IMHO it is un-rid...

Re: ROUTE ADVICE - GLENCOE TO FORT AUGUSTUS

Hi All Thanks for all the replies and advice. Numerous photos of Great Glen Way (and anywhere else) on Geograph website http://www.geograph.org.uk/article/Great-Glen-Way Great site for checking out track conditions. I was pretty much convinced to go through Clunes Forest on the GGW until I saw these...

Me too but not sure about the weather at the mo - out in shorts two days ago and got caught in a snow storm; in Dorset!

ROUTE ADVICE - GLENCOE TO FORT AUGUSTUS

Hi All I'm starting LEJOG in about a week and just putting final touches to the route. Has anyone recently ridden the route from Glencoe to Fort Augustus? I'm trying to avoid the A82 as much as possible and was wondering what the state of the surfaces on the Great Glen Way and the canal routes. My r...

Re: Runcorn is a nightmare until 2017

Rick - Thanks for the advice - route amended. Dave - I'm having a nightmare getting Garmin Connect to give me a route that follows your directions albeit, not the first time Garmin has frustrated me. Your offer to help me through would be great. If (BIG IF!) all goes to plan I should be arriving in ...

Re: Runcorn is a nightmare until 2017

Dave

Thanks - below is a link to my route to Runcorn bridge. Once across the bridge I was going to join NCN62 eastward and then just before Warrington start heading north again.

Re: Runcorn is a nightmare until 2017

Dave B - My departure is looming closer. Any news on Runcorn? My route takes me through Tattenhall to visit friends so I'd be grateful for any advice regarding that routing and what to do afterwards.

Thanks

Re: Getting Back from JOG (or Dunnet Head)

I'm finishing LEJOG towards end of May. Leaving my bike at JOG with a courier (£70 ish) and then flying down to Heathrow from Inverness (£35). Much quicker option and saves all the hassle of bikes on trains. Not really much difference in price either. Barking mad that getting the bike south costs tw...

Re: LEJOG2016 or 2017

Hi Everyone. Anyone out there thinking of doing the end to end ride next year or the following. I would like to take 3 weeks over the trip (time to smell the daisies). I live in the south of England but would consider starting in JOG if easier. Would like to stay in B&B. Thanks Steve Hi Steve I...

Re: Lowering Gearing and compatablilty

Hope nobody minds if I jump in on this topic. I've just obtained a Cannondale Synpase Sora that I want to use on a LEJOG and hence get some lower gearing to help with the hills! My very knowledgable buddy has change the set up to a triple (52 42 32) with a large ring 34 cassette on the back. This is...

Re: Runcorn is a nightmare until 2017

theDaveB - Thanks for the info - my route for LEJOG next year goes Frodsham - Runcorn - Warrington. I'll see how things develop over the next few months but would be grateful if closer to the time I could pick your brains for possible less stressful alternatives.

Thanks

Unusual Bikes

A son of a friend of mine completed a LEJOG on this cargo bike a week or so ago - took him about fourteen days - rather him than me!
