I’ve done little rides loaded up, I’m not sure I’d want to do it for 3 weeks, but that’s because I like to ride with as little extra weight as possible..but I think your point on getting a driver for 3 weeks is a good point...
High Level Plan;
The van would do the pickups and drop off at JOG.
Meet the party at the end of week one with spares, clothing and any other essentials, again at the end of week 2 then collect and do drop-offs at the end of week 3.
Riders would carry a minimum of a tent and sleeping bag or tent share and split the load, one set of spare clothing plus wet weather jacket.

So I'm actually picking up a geared Surly Ogre on Friday and am thinking of riding coast to coast France, mainly off road, self supported sounds like a plan (obviously if anyone's close enough please feel free to come round and slap me). I only thought of this whilst riding this morning, so no thought has gone into it at all. I'll post up a separate thread on the touring forum, as finding a route might be a good start......

Yes, the "Party" ... so the super triathletes are going to wait around for the old guys to turn up 7 days later .... Swiss cheese comes to mind ...
However !!! lets see as we get closer to the actual event ...

So are you thinking, credit card / B&B or full monty bike packing / camping???
Bike packing / camping ... spent an awful lot of time under polyester ... and without the support of Julie and Hattie the camper van ... i'd rather have the ability to stop when I want, or have too, without prior planning. Food from garages and fast food outlets ...

The beauty of this tent is that it has a single pole that runs lengthways so you get decent height, enough to sit up. Plus it has a porch. They don't make it any more but you may be able to get one second hand or eBay Amazon etc
