Re: CTC Council member critically ill after accident

The driver pleased guilty eventually to causing death by dangerous driving, and we now await the sentence. http://www.examiner.co.uk/news/west-yorkshire-news/former-soldier-michael-gledhill-admits-10433526 He was unhappy that John was riding in the correct place on the road ? Re: No more CTC technical officer ** NO HOAX **

Were I an employee of the CTC on a permanent contract of employment, in no matter what department, I don't think I'd sleep easily after this episode. The future is surely short-term contracts as and when projects with money attached come along. I believe for the last 7 or so years the majority of C...

Re: What is a CTC Member?

[quote="Mick F"][quote="langsett"] BC has a similar package for me. As with all insurance I'd check the small print, I believe BC insurance does not cover you if 2 riders collide or one causes an incident for another, so called rider on rider cover, whereas I understand CTC insur...

Re: What is a CTC Member?

What does this mean? If it is a formal event, registered with BC, they are covered under event insurance. If it is an informal event, it may be covered under event insurance, depending on the arrangements with BC. If it just a club run, or something like that, Gold and Silver members should be cove...

Re: What is a CTC Member?

Some great points and views coming out. Ian, genuinely interested to try & understand why members might leave CTC & join BC? It is worth highlighting although slightly drifting topics that AFAIK BC insurance does not cover rider on rider claims where both are BC members , for example on a cl...

What is a CTC Member?

Whilst respecting the interest of those present, after all you take time to be interested & comment.

As a topic for discussion, and not a personal comment.

CTC members join/remain for the insurance aspect and not for community, campaign or comradeship?

Re: So - is 'refresh the brand'

[quote="brynpoeth"]Clarkson for president, he rides a bike too! I love cycling, I drive a car too occasionally, he is maybe the other way round (car first?) but he would help CTC to get so much more publicity. That would butter tons of parsnips. How many people know Clarkson? How many know...

Re: No more CTC technical officer ** NO HOAX **

A question was raised about Guildford communicating that posts were being made redundant, as this is a managerial decision, and as a substantial number of posts have been made redundant over the last 4 years or so, I am not aware that it has ever been raised that such decisions be consulted or commu...

Re: No more CTC technical officer ** NO HOAX **

Chris, I think if you look back CTC has never made announcements on staff redundancies It is probably best not comment on the individual case, as it may still be subject to the process? That aside I would say that where a member of staff leaves and organisation they have worked at for many years, an...

Re: No more CTC technical officer ** NO HOAX **

I hope that with comments about the direction & governance of CTC, the item in cycle shorts on P12 , about council elections will not have been missed and that some of you may consider putting your names forward for this voluntary role? As has been mentioned, all too often the posts are not cont...

Re: The CTC - is it vulnerable?

I have recently browsed the thread and there seems to be a lot of loyalty and interest in the CTC, which is great. I am very interested by comments/information where CTC is alleged to have not taken opportunities and wonder if any reason was given for this? I know the Stourbridge model was used in N...
