I'd have thought an online survey would have got a larger response. It could be limited to CTC members by including a login step involving membership number. A postal-only survey seems a bit old fashioned and I doubt I'll get round to it, to be honest - whereas I could have done an online version in...

I seem to have messed up on the picture - newbie :-) So, a quick verbal description - the stem extension is anodised black aluminium and there are silver areas above the clamp bolt, which I thought might be caused by fatigue. Hi all - can anyone advise me on my handlebar stem? There are some discoloured areas above the upper stem binder bolt, shown within the red circle in the attached photo.
