the frame is a 21in and the lowest point where the down tube meets the seat tube is 17in, from ground. It has two down tubes. It weighs a ton. like all non racing bikes in the Forties/Fifties. Who knows, purchased in 1948 it could even be pre-war . . . It's as heavy as a tank. Pick up near Chelmsfor...

I have a 1948 Raleigh sport that was used at Cambridge Vernausity in the 1940/50s. [not been ridden since the lady left the University.

I sold my car when I was eighty-four. I hadn't driven it from dusk to dawn ever since I had my cataract operation, that really opened my eyes to how bad driving conditions are in evening-mist and with the bright headlights. Having a free bus pass really helped me to realise that you can live without...

This is 21st Century. Nothing stops women cycling . . . only women themselves! All the reasons put forward make a grand forum topic. But at the end of the day [where have I heard that before?] if they want to . . . they will!
