Ah well the NHS staff got a clap of appreciation at 8pm last night

There is no testing unless you're taken seriously ill.

In a nutshell; if you ring up with 'classic' symptoms you'll be told to stay indoors until they go away or if they get worse then ring back.

So....Bozos "mild symptoms"...seriously ill?

Re: Coronavirus (aka COVID-19) - just how serious?

Quote from Bozo himself:-

Over the last 24 hours I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus.

I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus.

So from showing symptoms to testing to result in 24hrs

My advice is if you feel you need to then do so but don't admit to it especially on the internet

Re: Hope Disc Brake

It is possibly siezed which could require a stripdown/clean rebuild.
Firstly.
Have you tried putting the old pads in then trying to pry it back.

Try opening the bleed valve slightly then try to pry it back.

Try cleaning the piston and rubbing a bit of Brake fluid on the protruding surface.

Sometimes it's just stuck and requires a "bit of persuasion".If all else fails it could be a stripdown job.Not particularly hard but can be messy!

Given off licenses are "essential retailers" does that mean that going to get beer is something you'd be allowed to do?
It would be difficult I'd think for them to argue against it...

"Essential" as with most things is open to interpretation.
Certain Police forces seem to be taking the "law" into their own hands and making it up as they see fit :|
This is not helping. In fact it's doing the exact opposite.

The problem is when you put an absolute value on something.

"exercise ONCE per day"
Firstly it's pretty pointless, very few people exercise more than once. (I'm just happy I've done it and its out of the way - I'd much rather sit on a sofa)
Second it's just ammo for the curtain twitchers and amateur police who think they've seen someone twice and are on the phone to the local bobbies or posting manically on their Facebook pages.

In short rather than promoting social cohesion it's actually divisive.

I now "unfollow" about 90% of the people on my Facebook "friends" list.To be honest I unfollowed many of them throught the "B" word process but gave them a second chance. They won't be getting a third.I can only take so much hypocracy and hysterical rambling. The thing is the ones posting all the memes etc aren't kids but "adults",many my age,who really should know better

Why not drive though?

I live near a little park, there are 2,500 houses around it - I guess 5000+ plus people.
If they all used the park for an hour (because they could walk to it) then over say 10 hours that's 500 people at any one time.
The park is simply too small for that number of people.

And yet if someone drove a few miles to the open spaces then there's hell to pay.

I don't get it.
Left to their own devices most folk will go somewhere others aren't but the rules seem to be designed to ensure they can't.
When drones are being used to call out someone walking their dog miles from anyone else then the world has gone completely barking.

As I said before if we want a lock down then have a lock down otherwise lets have some sense.

There's far too much common sense in what you're saying for the average doom-monger to process

Maybe if people used the "lockdown" to calm down look into statistics and facts there wouldn't be so much conflict?

If it's nothing out of the ordinary why is this happening?

You can quote all the stats you like but what is happening in the real world is a bit challenging for your cosy world view.
A couple of weeks until the peak hits in the UK (assuming people obey the rules)

Once again you're missing the point.
Unfortunately I don't live in a cosy little world anymore because mass hysteria has all but shattered that.
Why is it that statistics...actual facts...seem to be ignored by many who jump on a media-fueled bandwagon then actaully condemn those who choose to look at the facts and try to keep calm.
Truely bewildering.

classy.

I think you've missed his point?
Anyway when you actually look at it the total number of C-19 deaths is not great considering:-
The provisional number of deaths registered in England and Wales in February 2020 was 43,653; this represents a decrease of 13,053 deaths in comparison with the previous month and a decrease of 2,143 deaths in comparison with the same month in 2019.

Those trying to steal ID badges are thought to want them to obtain the free coffee, pizza and other products that high street chains such as Leon, Domino’s, Costa Coffee, Pret a Manger, Burger King, Pizza Hut and Greggs have begun offering NHS staff to thank them for their efforts in dealing with the coronavirus epidemic.

My wife is not allowed to leave the Hospital in uniform.Never has been. Her ID tag is in her bag once she leaves the Hospital.Nurses do however ignore this.
I'm pressuming it's the same for all NHS staff but hard to enforce?

All staff in my area were told this week there would be a zero tolerance policy on wearing uniform outside work.

And rightly so.Surely this should be policy regardless throughout the NHS and not differ from Trust to Trust?By regardless I mean not just when there's an epidemic about.

Re: Coronavirus (aka COVID-19) - just how serious?

From Sky News 2 hours ago for those who dislike figures without source:-
The number of people who have died in the UK after contracting coronavirus has risen by 43 to 465.

It represents the smallest rise in the number of deaths since 17 March - more than a week ago.

But there was the biggest increase in the number of infections across the UK - up 1,542 to 9,529.

In England, 28 people died in 24 hours.

So infections are up but deaths are down.Read into that what you will.

Quote from Bozo re NHS volunterrs:-
Johnson said of the volunteers: “They will be driving medicines from pharmacies to patients, bring patients home from hospital [and] very importantly, they will be making regular phone calls to check on and support people who are staying on their own at home.

So it's OK to drive and meet total strangers but not to drive to see your friends or family?Once again mixed messages from those making the rules :?

IIRC some stronger ales,Theakstons Old Peculier etc sour after 14 days or so.I'm not sure if that's 14 days after they're tapped though?
As for sitting in an untapped barrel seems like anything from 6 months to 2 years.
I'm sure the bif brewers will be OK.
