Re: Rude Co-op shop staff

I was at work stacking the shelves in Co-op. It was not a good day. things were going poorly. I had dropped some pasta sauce out in the store room and had to clear up the mess. Anyway, I was stacking the shelves when this bloke came up and asked me where he could find some special crisps. I don't k...

Re: Energy drinks: Why? Why not?

For instant energy which would be down to not eating enough to keep up my energy levels I carry a couple of "pate de fruit" which I buy when I'm in France. I suppose large fruit pastilles would do as well.[/quote] Yes ASTONISH, i always carry a couple the "pate de fruit" bars . I...

Re: Helmets in Spain

 The helmet would make the same amount of difference as it does in a country where they *aren't* required. So there are very few situations where the insurer could wriggle out of paying much of your claim. Your choice though - your head! I wonder if a claim would be paid in full if a non seat b...

Re: Helmets in Spain

I have ridden many many miles in Spain but always with a helmet . I believe it is the law in non urban areas except when riding up hill  or when the weather is hot :D . I wear one, as i wonder what position my travel insurance company would take if i had an accident and sustained a head injur...

Re: Wind direction in query

Hello Bolex .....In general the wind blows from the south west ,and this is why our area ( i live in Lowestoft ) is in general , the driest area of England . Today you would have a great but cold ride to Birmingham with this easterly wind but in general it would be in your face .

Re: longest pannier rack available?

Tommydog , This has been an ongoing problem for me with my largish feet . This year i have solved the problem by cutting about 1 cm off the heels of my shoes and along with having my panniers fixed as far back as possible , this actually works great for me . All prepared for my ride in Septem...

Re: Seat PositionAnd Safety

Yes as others have said, the saddle adjustment rails limits have not been passed ( not that they can be ) , so all will be fine . Simonhill....there are quite a few chain hotela in France now.....B&B.....Mr Bed....Fast Hotel.....Balladins et etc . The problem with some hotel chains , and not just the Formule 1 chain , is that they are now being used by some local towns to house immigrant families and as such are often quit...

Re: getting out of Malaga Airport on a bike

Horizon....thanks for your input and staying at the airport may not be a bad option as trying to get out of the airport at night on roads that seem to be bike unfriendly may not be the best idea . Whoof.....I am planning mid September so any info you can find would be great for me . There is a track...

Re: getting out of Malaga Airport on a bike

Bikerwaser....thanks for your reply . The last train , i believe , is around 11 pm , so by the time i have recuperated and unpacked my bike this would not be an option . I don,t suppose a bike would be acceptable by a taxi driver either . It looks like bright bike lights , hi vis jacket and a bit of...

I have done a street view but i think it dates from 2008 when there seems to have been major works going on at the airport . The roads around the airport do seem very bike ...
