Re: If you could go anywhere where would you go?
For me it would be the Via de la Plata camino from Seville to Santiago . I would start in Cadiz and cycle the Via Augusta ( i think thats its name )up to Seville and join the Via de la Plata . I have cycled from Seville 3 times and loved every moment ....good weather....cheap food....cheap hostels i...

Re: Getting rubber bar grips to stick?
I just use contact glue on the bar and then quickly slide the grips on . If they ever have to be removed then a Stanley knife does the job .

Re: Dutch government pilots technology to cut e-bike road deaths
I have noticed some €bikes going quite slowly, I suspect the heavy batteries are exhausted, minusplus? Unlikely. Perhaps they are just using them as intended, to help them keep riding on the parts of their journey where they need a little assistance. Not everyone feels the need to ride at their max...

Re: Go Outdoors
Similar problem last year for me . Went to the Norwich store to buy a pair of walking boots for my wife which were advertised in a leaflet we received in a free paper . Eventually found the boots in store which were priced £30 higher than the offer price even if i purchased the £5 discount card so i...

Re: Want to do LEJOG for charity - wife has cancer
Scott.....i am full of sympathy for your situation but as has been stated by many others this is such short notice , which i know cant be helped , but , with no training , equipment etc and in unpleasant weather is LEJOG really do-able ? as i believe normally, any donations are only paid if the task...

Re: Touring Destination 2 Months Mid Oct to Dec - Any Ideas
As Martinbrice states , one of the Spanish pilgrim caminos would also be a good choice . My preference would be the "Via de la Plata " from Seville up to " Granja de Moreuella" , then taking the camino " Sanabres " through "ourense " ( a MUST visit in Ourense ...

Re: Touring Destination 2 Months Mid Oct to Dec - Any Ideas
My choice would be South Morocco.....Cheap and delicious food, cheap hotels/lodgings , warm weather . Starting in Marrakech we did a lovely ride through Ouarzazate , Agdz ,..along the beautiful Valley du Draa to Zagora ( 32 deg in January ) .We then took a long dirt track , which may well be tarmace...

Re: Rude Co-op shop staff
I was at work stacking the shelves in Co-op. It was not a good day. things were going poorly. I had dropped some pasta sauce out in the store room and had to clear up the mess. Anyway, I was stacking the shelves when this bloke came up and asked me where he could find some special crisps. I don't k...

Re: Energy drinks: Why? Why not?
For instant energy which would be down to not eating enough to keep up my energy levels I carry a couple of "pate de fruit" which I buy when I'm in France. I suppose large fruit pastilles would do as well.[/quote] Yes ASTONISH, i always carry a couple the "pate de fruit" bars . I...

Re: Helmets in Spain
 The helmet would make the same amount of difference as it does in a country where they *aren't* required. So there are very few situations where the insurer could wriggle out of paying much of your claim. Your choice though - your head! I wonder if a claim would be paid in full if a non seat b...

Re: Helmets in Spain
I have ridden many many miles in Spain but always with a helmet . I believe it is the law in non urban areas except when riding up hill  or when the weather is hot :D . I wear one, as i wonder what position my travel insurance company would take if i had an accident and sustained a head injur...
