Re: Suitable towbar bike carrier for electric bike?

Thanks to all who made suggestions to my original question. I bought a Thule Velocompact 925 2 bike carrier that will carry the weight of my wife's Ebike. Minimal assembly from the box and sits tightly and securely on towbar. Excellent so far. Ordered 'Click and collect ' from local Halfords at 10.0...

Re: Suitable towbar bike carrier for electric bike?

More thoughts and suggestions....Thank you. I have tried to fit both my touring Ridgeback and my wife's new Ebike minus the front wheels into the Jazz but with great difficulty and failing. So a towbar rack it will be especially as the towbar was fitted on Friday last week. Seeing the link to Screwf...

Re: New E Bike Purchase

Today we went across to Halfords and my wife bought her E bike and received the 10% discount on showing the CTC voucher. Excellent.

Re: Suitable towbar bike carrier for electric bike?

Thanks for your thoughts on the towbar carriers.

I am coming down to the Thule two bike carrier. I am having the tow bar fitted next week and then I will look to purchase the one in mind.

Any more thoughts would be most welcome in the interim
Thanks

Suitable towbar bike carrier for electric bike?

To enable my wife and I to go further afield with our bikes she is investing in an Ebike. Actually picking it up tomorrow.. Whereas before when taking our bikes by car I have either put them inside with difficulty it must said ( Honda Jazz) or put them on a bike rack which attaches to the tailgate a...

Re: New E Bike Purchase

PeterB I think that is correct inspite of what I was told by an employee as I mentioned yesterday. My wife is actually buying an ebike today and will pick it up tomorrow and when I asked about the discount the girl said 'yes'.... So when we come to pay for it tomorrow on collection we will see but I...

Re: New E Bike Purchase

Regarding the CTC 10% discount. I was told a while ago by a Halfords employee that bikes were not included just cycle accessories.
Best check this one out.

Re: Taking Bikes by air - where to store the packaging ?

I flew last September with my bike to Austria. Using the CTC polybag I ended up carrying it on my bike for the two week tour. It was not noticeable in the pannier either by weight or size. That is one very simple solution to your question. However initially I thought I would leave the bag and the ex...

Re: Halfords discount?

Re... my initial post on this voucher business in Halfords. I stand corrected ( not for the first time in my life I must say) as I now understand this different way of obtaining the discount in this shop. A bit of a palaver but always worth it if spending a certain amount of money.

Halfords discount?

This may or may not be to place to voice this issue? I went into our local Halfords on Saturday to buy a new inner tube for my wife's bike. Produced my CTC card and the girl picked up the 3 or 4 sheets with the various bar codes and looked for 'Cycling UK' code to scan. Could not find it. Her collea...

Re: highest navigable route in Europe

I have just returned from a tour of the Salzkammergut region of Austria. Just last week. Completely knackered for two reasons. I obviously thought my fitness levels were better than they actually are. Secondly the route was graded at intermediate and I thought maybe that was just one above easy?????...

Re: Airports on your own

Hi to MrsHJ and others who wished me well on my very recent trip to Salzburg and Austria. I returned on the 4th Oct and all went well. I have posted a note on another thread about the bike at Gatwick so I won't repeat myself. Suffice to say that my trip was a success albeit incredibly hard at times....

Re: Flying with a Bike

I have just returned from a fortnight's touring in the Salzgammergut region of Austria and a foray into Germany . Flying from Gatwick to Salzburg via BA. All new to me. I used the CTC polybag to pack the bike as this is allowed by BA and as long as it is within the weight allowance the bike goes fre...

Re: Airports on your own

My trip is nearly upon me now. Next week in fact I am off to Salzburg from Gatwick. I will be using the ''Help me park Meet and Greet service '' which admittedly costs that extra bit more but it means I can drive directly to the drop off point outside the terminal and take the plastic wrapped bike d...
