Try using electrical tape as a guide for a square cut

Re: Boring question.....sorry

Sorry, my mistake. It's 32mm tyres I've fitted. I had 28s on there but found them a bit harsh for the bike.

mudguards to suit my Scott metrix bike

I'm sure this has been done a million times but......I'm looking for mudguards to suit my Scott metrix bike. I put 700c 35 tyres on it and now the mudguards are rubbing. I managed to squeeze the rear one on with a bit of modification, but the front ones too tight. I only have 10mm clearance between ...

Pedalosophy app

Hi. Sorry if this is in the wrong place or been brought up before (I did search it but couldn't find it) is anyone using this app? I find it quite inspiring. Makes me want to get out on the bike a bit more[emoji4]

Re: 'vintage' MTBs - is there a market?

Personally I love vintage mountain bikes. I've used a few over the years as winter commuters. They're a good way to get a quality bike really cheap. Good luck selling.

Re: How do you choose a saddle?

That's a great question. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. I've had a few saddles with mixed results. I've often been tempted with a Brooks leather saddle but don't want to fork out that sort of money in case it's not right for me. Maybe there's a service that takes a mould of your ass and make...

Re: Anyone Ditched their Car Completely for a Bike?

I've been car free for about 2 years. It's not 'till you give it up that you realise what a burden the car is. Go for it. If it doesn't work out you can always buy another one

Re: What's this on my new wheel and why?

It's fine thanks. I'd love to move to Yorkshire. I regularly holiday in the dales. Beautiful part of the world! Quite hilly for cycling though[emoji3] yeah, it's a shame about my LBS. I've gave them plenty of chances but they constantly disappoint with their attitude I'm afraid. If you're not dresse...

...that would allow me to avoid this type of thing and avoid fleabay, but I'm sad to say I find them rude, snobby and arrogant, so I will just have to learn from my mistakes. Happily the wheel is fine[emoji106]

Re: What's this on my new wheel and why?

It was an internet purchase. Entirely my mistake. It fits my front forks fine and my V brakes work fine with it. I have no intention of using it as a fixed gear rear wheel so i'm happy with it. I'd love to have the type of relationship with my local bike shop

Re: What's this on my new wheel and why?

It was advertised as suitable for V brakes and disc brakes. I'll use it for now and see how I get on. I may convert to disc brakes if I feel like it would be beneficial...but that's a whole other thread![emoji4]
