Re: Eurovelo 4 - wind direction

Richard, hello, There is an alternative route for you, one that is mostly off-road. Follow VV 7 from Roscoff (Morlaix) to Carhaix, VV 6 from Carhaix to St Meen le Grand, through the fields to Medreac (just 15km), and then follow VV 3 (or the River Rance) to Dinan. Continue up the EASTERN side of the...

Re: TER trains France

Ivor T, hello,

Er - sorry, but if you enter the departure and destination details into the boxes provided on the site all the available trains appear - designated as to their individual style.

Just head for the TER ones.

Works for me.

regards, Morzedec.

Re: TER trains France

https://www.bonjourlafrance.com/train-landing/ Works for me. The staff at most rural (ish) French stations are quite underemployed, so often delight in offering help - especially if your journey is a complicated one. Just turn up at the station without booking ? - well, why not, as long as you avoid...

Re: Setting off Thursday...

As with others, I wish you good luck for your ride - but bring your macs, cos it's pouring down in Penzance this AM, and the forecast for the rest of the week is not that good either. Character forming, I think they call it. Please beware of too much Sustrans: they can wander hither and thither, and...

Re: Eurovelo 1, Roscoff southward.

Dear Breton Bikes, thank you for your response. Only an additional 20km, you say, and that is so - but squeezing out that extra distance at my age might find me laying in the grass verge somewhere along VV6 wondering why I bothered, having ridden across the Monts d'Arree earlier in the day. The rea...

Re: Eurovelo 1, Roscoff southward.

Dear Breton Bikes, hello. Could you please move your Gouarec campsite to Mael-Carhaix? From Roscoff, the Municipal sites at Mael-Carhaix - Rohan - du Bellion, and then across the Loire at Le Pellerin to Port Saint Pere work best for me, so I'm always passing you during the late-ish morning. True tha...

Re: Myklops Mirror?

Hello, the wrist-mounted mirror does have an additional function.

If I get an itch and feel the need to scratch anything - sort of behind me, and lower down a bit - I can see exactly where I am aiming, but that's not a view to be taken lightly nor published on this forum.

Ah, happy daze.

Re: Man and his best friend

I want to start by making it crystal clear - I'm not anti-dog! I like dogs, I've owned dogs. No, what I'm asking about here is really dog-owners. No, that's not fair. Its not dog-owners unversally, it just some dog owners. The problem is I seem to meet an awful lot of one type of owner when I'm out...

Re: How long before you got up to speed?

First few rides on my Metabike and although it's not the easiest contraption I've ever ridden (very twitchy) I half expected my speeds to be quite high compared to my DF, maybe matching them on the flat. Admittedly mine's not built for speed but I'm way off my normal pace even on the flat. Hills ar...

Re: Eighty is a perfectly sensible age . . . Just keep pedalling

Trouble is, Mick F, you've got Raleigh Choppers on the brain. Name me another cyclist over 60 (apart, that is, from me, and then you have to add ten to that figure) who can regularly get up Gunny Hill without getting off to push. I was in France again just before Christmas, riding one rotten wet and...
