Re: Raleigh Classic and Raleigh Nitro
A fine bike, I still have one and use it daily. Mine is a 1984 model, the tubing, fork and stays are all 531C, it is still all original except for chain, the tires and the front rack. As far as I know the classic came in only one colour, burgundy with a silver head. I paid 375 pound for the bike, bo...

Re: Has anyone had any experience of Dutch 2ndhand sites.
If by protocol, you mean how it works, I will try to explain: Normally you just look at the item you are interested in and contact the seller, some leave their phone number others you can mail. most if not all speak enough English to get by, e-mail is the best way to go about it. Interesting topic; When I recently got onto my brand new Dawes Super galaxy, something did not feel quite right. Until reading this topic I just had no idea, I figured well... new bike you will just have to get used to it, now I know better. Although the 2007 Dawes specs tell me that the cranks are ...

Normally I would have used one of the old saddles, but they both looked kind of tacky next to this light tan B17. Being 79 kilo (12 stone) and 5’-10” I never had to many problems with saddle pain. By the way, I feel I am going to like this Dawes Super Galaxy, first impressions are very positive, som...

I found this link, they mention that the seat post Diameter for the Ultra Galaxy is 27.2 mm.
Attention…!!, this concerns 2007 models, early models may have different measurements.

@ Mick F, About that Raleigh Classic; five year ago I had it completely stripped, fully sandblasted and powder coated. All components replaced incl. the antique 27 inch rims, used Shimano Lx right through. The only thing still original is the Reynolds frame and fork, rides better than ever, yes, som...
